Steemit vs Synereo vs Akasha

in #steem10 years ago (edited)

Steemit is now working and has smartcoin(SBD). but not support programming language on top of it. (but faster?)
Synereo will support programming language on top of it like ethereum but more rigorous one.(rholang)
AKASHA is working project on top of ethereum platform but has gas problem I guess (as long as I know)

pros and cons ? your thought?

It's interesting to watch all these different approaches to similar problems. I really think Steem will crush the competition because of the obvious advantages: 3s block time, no TX fees, already up to speed with 15k users, SMD with 10% interest, non-turing completeness. It's just amazing. I think AKASHA has an advantage with the big developer-fanbase, who are exited about it being built upon their favorite blockchain. That however doesn't guarantee any real-world advantage. Just think of how fast Steem was built with Graphene and how capable these guys are. About programming languages on a blockchain, read @dantheman's post. It sounds nice in theory, but in reality it is a trade-off.

Thanks for link. I will read it.

Who says steem isn't programmable 😉

Oh, I know steem is programmable but isn't it plug-in model?
And Daniel, I have been always thinking that Graphene chain is more capable to host Augur like service than Ethereum chain, is my thinking right?

Steem has already a working system with real users. That's the best predicting factor for success.

So far blockchain world has seen a lot of projects, but only a few have delivered something actually useful.

@publicworker thanks for your post as I haven't heard about Synereo before. I also addressed Akasha as a blockchain competitor for a media platform but there are others: https://steemit.com/steemit/@timdierckxsens/steemit-leading-the-first-wave-of-industry-disruption
