Differentiate between urban and rural areas stating three major features

I wish I could be in the city. There's money, machines, good life and food said a young man who came to an urban area in my state for a visit. He gaze at places for so long and which he would be born here. From his looks, one can discern he is from the village. This village is termed rural and the city is termed urban. He felt like the city was paradise, heaven, a perfect place to stay. Rural and urban areas are like certificates of obtaining a degree as a graduate and one that is just at high school level. There's a big difference between the two and it's their differences I was to state.

Which area did you grow up and why

  • Research has it that the quality of education obtained in rural areas is low compared to that of urban areas, the Oxford, Cambridge and the likes of them. | Quality education is minted out in urban areas as they are very much developed and with these developments, people begin to look for greener pastures. I would say that 70% of those that live in rural areas are uneducated because education isn't the key to success there. It is hardwork and farm work.
  • Another integral difference is lack of basic social amenities in terms of facilities. Chemists, pharmacist and hospitals aren't or barely seen in rural areas. Inhabitants there consider the drugs produced as fake and that leaves are much more reliable than these drugs. These are what they use in maintaining and improving their health | Compared to the urban, reliance on drugs Is the major source of preventing illness although most of us have employed the improvisations used in rural areas. Facilities for giving birth safe and sound are available in urban area but aren't in rural. They have traditional birth attendants in rural areas to take that responsibility.
  • In terms of structure, urban areas are more structural than rural areas although there are lot of lands, large plots in rural areas at subsidized rates than in urban areas. The buildings found in rural areas are majorly, thatched, mud and low budget bungalow but in urban, buildings like storeys, skyscrapers, mansions, flats and duplexes and everywhere.

In addition, the quality of their lives is reduced or low compared to those in urban areas. So these are the major differences between rural and urban.

If you were told to go to the area you didn't grow up from, will you?

To be Frank, I grew up in rural areas because my parents actually grew up there. The development of rural to urban became more popular and rapid in recent years. My parents spent most of their lives in rural areas of which they were used to lot of things and even adapted to the changing economic situation there. Regretting life wasn't their mindset as they were moulded to think and behave the way the villagers there do. This was short-lived as they migrated from rural life to urban of which my major growing up was in an urban area. I learnt morals from both places where I grew up from especially from the village. I learnt farm work from the village if not, I think I would have been a lazy man, dependent on processed products instead of producing mine when I'm capable.

What things are there in the area you grew up from that aren't in the other?

It would be very much uneasy to return to the village or rural area because 70% of my life was majorly in rural areas and it has become part of me and I thank God I migrated to the city as I'm more knowledgeable and exposed compared to when I was in the rural area. If I were still there, I doubt I would have seen opportunities that made me the financial stable man that I am today and my mindset as well would be affected on a greater scale. My educational life would have been porous. So seeing all the benefits that would have been lost if I didn't move to urban is enough reasons to keep me in my current area instead of going back to suffering.

I get your point. Living in an urban area has it's lows but the truth is, the things we're exposed to kind of make up for the lows.

Just like you, I don't think I'll leave the city for a rural area.

MODs Comment/Recommendation:
Exposure is one of the exclusive benefit of settling in an urban area. Although i love the rural setting as well. The thing is any where we choose to settle is just the most suitable place for us. I wish you the very best.
