Commissioned 60th birthday present
I broke a personal record while doing this portrait. There was very little time to deliver so I did a drawing marathon from 10:30am (morning) to 1:00am (midnight), spare only a few little breaks that should sum up to about an hour, just to meet up! That still wasn't the whole duration of the drawing though, I had spent some hours the previous day and still spent some more when I woke up that morning. The amazing part is, I totally lost track of time, I never saw it that way until I was done!
The portrait was to be a gift from a friend and his brother to their dad to mark his 60th birthday. I'm always glad to participate in such joyful occasions and also to draw my ethnic attire (Yoruba).
Here's some progress shots...
