Steemit Engagement Challenge : Mauritius - My 3 reasons I love my country and 3 things I would like to change about it!
Assalamualaikum Steemit Pakistan!
I am so happy to be writing my first post ever in this lovely community and all thanks to the Steemit Engagement Challenge launched by the Steemit Team recently!
I am loving this initiative and here I am today in the Steemit Pakistan Community participating in the interesting theme challenge : Share your views about your Country|| "The Three Rs and Three Cs"
This will be a golden opportunity for me to first; write my first post here and also share some informations about my country!
And I am sure, I will be the rare one from my country...maybe this is the only post talking about my country compared to other countries we have our Steemians!
Anyone else from Mauritius!????
Let's go with the 3 reasons I love my country :
1. We are an island with people from different religions and faith living peacefully together!
We are all happy under the umbrellas...
Mauritius is one of the rare countries/islands in the world where we can find people from different religions and faith living next to each other with all respect...
The main ones being : Hindus / Christians / Muslims / Buddhist
Each one participate in each others festivals...
Mauritius is Multicultural and we love it like this!
2. Our Beaches...
Oh well...people travel a lot of miles to come here to spend some time at our beaches...
And I am lucky to be living here and everything's free for me to enjoy!
White sandy beaches...beautiful sun...blue sky...calm lagoon...gentle breeze, this is how most of my weekends are spent!
The Nature!
Driving in Mauritius and you can see how green the surrounding is!
Though because of industrialization and buildings of roads and towers here and there, some part of our lovely green nature has been erased but still the greenery around the island is simply amazing!
We need to keep maintaining or even improve to keep the nature balance in our small island!
The 3 things I would like to change in my country...
Now let's go for the 2nd part of the challenge...
1. Adopt Crypto...easy thing to implement in such an small island!
We are around 1.3 million inhabitants and I think Mauritius can become a crypto hub/island soon!
Recently we have seen El Salvador and Central African Republic adopting Bitcoin/Crypto, while Mauritius has been mentioned since long that it will become the Ethereum island...but still not!
It would be great if Mauritius starts accepting crypto as this move can boost the whole economy and attracts people in the crypto world to come over here!
2. New way of governing the country...ALL ON BLOCKCHAIN!!!
As mentioned above, we are just 1.3 million people and I believe the way we have been having elected governments in place each 5 years is something we have to stop now that we are in 2022...
By using a blockchain, something like Steem/Steemit, we can vote for our president via the blockchain itself and at the same time our people can blog and earn a living...and anyone can place his name and run for it and we can form the entire government by doing this vote on blockchain!
And everything that is done by the government must be on blockchain...complete freedom of information!
The last 50 years since our independence, we have mainly got corrupt leaders/politicians on our head...time to change this now!
3. Re-Educate the Police Force!!!
I think this is a problem in many countries around the world and it makes me sad seeing how the Police Forces in many countries and also in my country uses force/threats against those innocent civilians who are the ones contributing in making their salaries...
We have to educate the ones wishing to join these forces that they are supposed to be here for the security of the people and stand by them...
But we see different things everyday...Thieves/Corrupts/Criminals are being worshipped while innocent are being arrested and put to jail...
Here we are my friends, a little bit of my country, though I have a lot more reasons that I love my country like the food culture and many other aspects of our day to day life!
We are overall an amazing country with lovely people...if we manage to get rid of the corrupted politicians and heads, then it will be real paradise!

Ps. Mauritius is such a small country that I am all alone on the platform...looking for a country community to adopt me!LOL!!!

wow! what a beautiful country, one day I should have the opportunity to bathe in those white sand beaches and go out and enjoy a good walk in those green areas.
It really is quite a small country but seeing the diversity of beliefs but they are still united, so I can see that the people are very friendly.
Like other countries, they also face corruption from political leaders and security entities. Here in my country we have experienced a lot of that, but I hope that things can improve. The proposals you have left to improve your country are very good for the development and growth of the nation.

Greetings of the day my friend! Ok let me give you an idea of the size of my country compared to Venezuela...you'll be shocked!!!
Venezuela = 916,445 km² and Mauritius = only 2,040 km²
Venezuela is 450 times bigger than my small little island! lol!
Small multicultural island where normally is great to live in, except the corrupts who always are here making things difficult!
But you should definitely visit us if you get the opportunity my friend!
