Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am very glad to greet you all after my introductory post on Steemit Social media platform also know as Achievement 1. On this Achievement 2, I will like to share my understanding on the basic security keys on Steemit and their personal functions they perform and when to use either of them.

After carrying out various research on different posts and articles on steemit I will like to share my perception on the basic security.

I want to discuss on the functions/usage of all keys that exists in0 steemit when a new users signs up...

STEEMIT KEYS AND THEIR SIGNIFICANCE

POSTING KEYS

The Private Posting Key is used for accessing accounts such as steemit. and it grants access to execute social media activities such as: voting, posting comments and posting on steemit communities. This is the frequently used type of key which also allows to follow and mute other accounts on steemit. This private keys entails you keeping it save even though the private posting key seems to be a key with less security and does not have high security risk effect unlike other keys that needs to be totally hidden from users.

Memo Key

The memo key is a specialized key that functions as encryption and decryption to messages received or sent to your personal steemit account, which is better known as <b>Cryptography</b>

ACTIVE KEY

Active Key is a key used to perform various tasks such as: transfer of funds, power up steems/power down steem, change permission keys. It is also the password that gives you unlimited access to your steemit account.

OWNER KEY

This can also be called a master key because with this key, you can use to reset other keys. This key can be used to recover your steemit account if it is compromised within a certain period. Most importantly, it is vital to keep this key confidential to avoid it getting into the wrong hands.

How I Intend Keeping My Master Key Secured

Master Key is a very important key that needs to be kept secret and secured, so to achieve this, I ensured that I saved my Master Keys on Two different Gmail accounts and on Google Drive for easy accessibility by me.

Procedures for Transferring Steem Token to Another Steem Account

I will be Describing the steps involved in transferring steem stoken to another steem account below:

Step 1:

I assume you are already logged in to your steem account, if not you log in. Then Click on your profile where you will see a list of mentioned links, You will see WALLET then you select it.

Step 2:

If you are using a Laptop Your steem balance will appear at the right hand side of your screen

which has a drop down menu.

Step 3:

When You click the drop down icon you will see a list of options, Select "Transfer". After Clicking this it will bring you to the page below:

When the page pops up, all you have to do is to fill in your details such as: the name of the account you are transferring from, the name of the account you are transferring the steem to, the amount of steem you wish to transfer to the recipient's account, after that you click "Next" that is all your steem will be transfered successfully.

Steps Involved to Power Up Steem Tokens:

1. You login to your steem account

2. Go to your steem wallet

3. Click on Login (input your wallet details i.e Username and Password)

4. Click the Dropdown icon shown in Steem , some options will appear (transfer, transfer to savings, power up, market and trade).

5. Select the Power Up option in the drop down icon.

Note: To carry out the Power Up process you must have converted or sold your Steem Bag Dollars to Steem....
