AS A MAN THINKETH IN HIS HEART, SO IS HE (PROV 23:7a)

To THINK is to Ponder, to Go over in one’s head, to Conceive, to Imagine, to Consider, to Plan and to Meditate.
Engaging one’s mind actively.

Mind and Heart are sometimes interchangeably used in the bible. The Mind is like a Town Hall. (Village square), where matters are deliberated upon, decisions and action taken.
In this discourse, we shall basically consider the topic on the following subheading

WHAT IS CHARACTER?
According to Google dictionary; It is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. In order words your Personality, Your Makeup, The Stamp which you show people, your temperament, your mentality, and your identity.
From our text Prov 23: 7a, it means that what you think about is what people see you doing..You are a reflection of your thought.

Note: As a man thinketh, that means you have power to make or unmake yourself. By your thought you can forge the weapons to shape your Character.

EFFECTS OF THOUGHT ON CIRCUMSTANCE

Thought and Character are one, Character can only manifest and discover itself through environment and circumstance.
The mind is like a garden and whatever you sow in the garden of your mind can only produce its kind, Jesus said in Luke 6:45, A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh (KJV)

Every thought-seed sown or allowed to fall into the mind and to take root there produce its own, blossoming sooner or later into act, and bearing its own fruitage of opportunity and circumstance. Good thoughts bear good fruit, bad thoughts bear bad fruits.

EFFECTS OF THOUGHT ON HEALTH AND BODY

Prov 17:22; A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.(KJV)

The body is the servant of the mind. It obeys the operation of the mind whether they be deliberately chosen or automatically expressed. At the bidding of unhealthy thoughts, the body sinks rapidly into disease and decay; at the command of glad and beautiful thoughts the body becomes clothed with strength and beauty. Clean thoughts beget clean habits. If you must put your body under control, Check on your mind and every other thing will fall in shape. There is no physician like a cheerful thought.

THOUGHT AND PURPOSE

Until your thought is linked with purpose there will be no accomplishment. A man should conceive of a legitimate purpose in his heart and pursues it. When he makes this purpose the centralizing point in his thought. Let see what happens in

Genesis 11:4-6. And they said,

“Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”

5 But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built.

6 And the LORD said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. (NKJV)

If your thought has to be productive, it must have a co-operating action. Faith and Works. If you conquer your doubt and fear, you will sure conquer failure.

THOUGHT FACTOR IN ACHIEVEMENT

All that a man achieves and all that he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thought.
The word of God is the broom that can sweep the heart of man and make it productive.

Psalms 119:9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. (KJV)

Pro. 4:23. Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. (NKJV)

Think Right, Live Right, Believe Right, Work Right and Aim High.
