POVERTY AND ITS BAD EFFECTS

Many people these days complain of harsh economic situation in their land. Many blame it on their government fiscal policies and poor management of their national resources. Some Youths got into criminal activities as a means of sustenance. Cultic practices on the increase.
Africa, it appears, is a continent where poverty seems to be a personality. Poverty can lead to hunger and death. Many people die the death they shouldn’t have as a result of poverty because health management system is grossly inadequate and unaffordable.
I heard a story of a case of a pregnant woman in labour that was rushed to a nearby private clinic.
The medical director insisted that money deposit must be made before she would be given attention. That woman died about thirty minutes latter. Very painful. This is one of the many cases of what happens in our communities.
People especially the youth of employable age don’t find work to do. Job creation programmes by the governments are inadequate. The future of our nations are wasting on the streets of our cities. I was told that the issue of Xenophobia in Southern Africa some time ago was necessitated by unemployment for the teaming young school leavers.
Corruption in high places has become a termite that eat deep into the scarce resources of some African countries and indeed other continents.
Politics has become a means of amassing wealth instead of service to the people. The rich gets richer while the poor gets poorer. No hope for the common man.
No wonder King David said:
“ I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth”. Psalm 121:1-2 (KJV)
There is a sure hope of sustenance in God who made heavens and the earth.
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7 (NIV)
While some people are sitting and complaining, Some are surviving the economic hardship.
Some out there are making their money, buying new cars and building new houses during the recession. Some are in STEEMIT staying late at night to create quality contents to enhance their creativity and reap from it some coins. Some men and women and are bereft of creative ideas, hence they are not productive.
A month ago I met a lady who I encouraged to attended an empowerment seminar in her locality. There she was taught how to make bleach, insecticide and liquid detergents. After trying out the three, she decided to major on insecticide.
Picture from my android.
As at the time I saw her three days back she said she makes two to three thousand Naira daily.
She can now contribute to domestic needs of the family and add value to her life.

I tested @minnowbooster. I send 3sbd and got about 4.5sbd back and when I send 5sbd I got back about 8sbd. But there are limits, can only send once every 24 hours and I think limited to 4 x a week. Not totally sure of this. Blessings!
Sad post, it is the reality of life in South Africa for the majority of the population and in most Africa countries, but as you said, God never fails us. But then again a positive spark at the end of this woman, who took what God gave her and are making a living. Thank you for sharing!

So so sad for this poor continent and its black people. North Africa seems to be doing fine.
I know we need hope but it is too clear that we should focus all of our brain power and energie into understanding the issues at hand and realistic ways of solving them. We can no longer live in dilusional optimism when we are faced with real world problems. Surely, we should not waste our time relying on any external source of power. Too many millions of innocent people have died in vain and never got a chance to enjoy life.
We need to continue to encourage others. Not every has the same level courage neither does everyone endure the same level of hardship. But the more time we spend complaining, the worse it gets.
That is amazing! You see, we are the ones solving our own problems by helping each other.
