Now I Really Know It's Spring! My Wednesday Walk...
One sign that I look for as a for-sure sign of spring is the chorus of frogs coming from the pond!
Yesterday I heard them for the first time this year.
Tune in and you can hear them too...
Chorus of Spring Peepers By the Pond
We pass by this pond every day walking the dog up into the hills where we are greeted by this fabulous view...

Hope you enjoyed my little bits of spring!
UPDATE Just after posting this the next day the temperatures dropped and it began snowing again - with big fluffy white snowflakes - can you believe it, on the 25th of April!
Around where I live there are not many frogs but I am sure if I walked the trails I would here them I had almost forgotten his hearing them was always a sign of springs when I was young
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)
Yes, I feel it is truly spring when you hear the chorus of frogs but the funny thing is the next day after I posted this it started to snow again - I updated my post with this video of snow - April 25th
That’s pretty steady snow come on winter time to move away from us
The frogs are lovely, aren’t they? I also have hundreds of them in the ponds near my house. It’s one of the most wonderful signs of spring.

What a contrast between the pond, frogs, and then the snow shortly thereafter.
We've got a tiny pond behind our house, there's a few frogs, but a lot more ducks and ibis than anything else.
Lovely to have a pond right behind your house with all the diverse life forms it supports!
Love hearing the peepers in the spring. :))
Have a great spring for you @porters 🌸🌸🌸

oh yes, yes the Spring is here. It's so awesome to see more and more people being just happy about the fact that the seasons are changing and it's getting a bit warmer. ;)
Your gentle frogs' chorus literally made me laugh out loud. So calm and soothing. Here in Thailand the frog's "chorus" can be sooooo deafening that you can't hear the person trying to talk to you in a phone call. LOL. Always lovely to reflect on changes in the natural world as the seasons pass. Nice.

Really? Are they the giant bull frogs? Do they carry on like that all year long or just certain seasons? I love tuning into nature and the changing seasons!
Weather cannot make up it's mind, never heard of that tree are those seeds or fresh leaves?
One walk with frogs chanting for you the next smothered in white powdery snow again... Yup upside down, that is Mother Nature for you.
Thanks for a lovely walk.
Those trees are a poplar or sometimes called an aspen and it's the catkins on the tree that open before the leaves.
This is interesting, not having the tree, not aware of it's cycle.
We have trees that do similar, not to this extent. Other trees or small bushes the tips go bright red/orange before the leaves unfurl. Your aspen's catkins makes for a very unusual display.
Yes it is quite a spectacular display and when they fall off it makes it look like there is snow on the ground because they are so thick in some spots!
That would be beautiful to have the red tips!
Weather nowadays are just unpredictable!
I am glad that you are beginning to see signs of spring up there, and amazed at the late-April snow! We have those 'peepers' in a creek near me, too, and I love hearing them (active mostly at night, so might be a different species).
Yes they must be a different species for these come out with the heat of the day.
Yah, that snow just doesn't want to stay away! It snowed again today - April 30th - beginning to wonder if we will ever get true spring!
