FUNCTION NEWSPAPER

One medium for communication that has had a very old age of newspapers. Newspapers are very often encountered in our daily lives, even some people read the newspaper is a routine activity that is done in everyday. Although the main function of newspapers as a means of communication has been left behind by various modern means of communication today such as radio and television, but the newspaper is still in great demand by the public. This is because the price of newspapers more affordable, so it can be enjoyed by various circles of society. Newspapers deliver messages in mass, so the recipient of the message is anonymous (unknown).

Here I will mention some functions of the newspaper, namely:

• Information Source

Newspapers provide information to the public. The information contained in the newspaper about job vacancies, events / events in the community, information services, and a lot of positive information contained in newspapers.

• Serves As an Educator

In newspapers there is a lot of science that can be read by the public, so that the increasing knowledge and insight of every reader. Therefore newspapers can be said to have an educational function.

• Entertainment Function

Newspapers also have the function of entertainment to offset various heavy news (hard news). Examples of entertainment contained in newspapers are caricatures, crosswords, corners, short stories, and others that are entertaining.
