How are you doing today?

Header sunrise

I've spend very little time on the pc so far this week. It's a good thing I guess! We've been busy with a lot of things, but I've also taken time to lie on the couch and read a magazine, or to watch some television. Besides that, we've also done archery the last two days.

My arms get tired really quick now, because we haven't practiced a lot at all. They need to get stronger, so I want to practice most days now. It's not going well all the time, though sometimes I manage to hit my target quite accurately. I think it'll be better once my arms get stronger, so I can hold longer to perfect my stance and aim.

Yesterday, the estate agent came over to my boyfriend's old house. We need to fill in some forms and such, but she said the house would most likely go online next week or so. Finally, some real big steps there!

After that, we went to a barber to lessen my boyfriend's hairyness. The guy was new and he did a great job, so he now has a new regular customer!

After lunch, we did archery and I read a magazine. Then, my boyfriend's sister and her little kid arrived. We talked a bit and ofcourse, we had to take him to look at the pumpkins. My boyfriend mixed it up a little and we took him to go look for frogs aswell. We managed to find one too! We ate pasta and my boyfriend's brother in law went outside with his son to carve up some pumpkins. Eventually, the kid came to get me to... look at pumpkins! So we looked at pumpkins again, and then they left. It were a fun couple of hours and it's nice to live closer to them.

In the evening, my mum called, so we talked for a long time. Some frustrating things and some good things. One of which is that my mum's course, which will be once every two weeks, is closeish to the cabin, so she'll come have dinner with us after each time there. It's great that we'll get to see her regularly, atleast once every two weeks!

I did not have enough time and energy to judge the Marvelous Tales contest, which means I'm going to do that today. So look out for the new contest post later!

Have a good day!

As one who is unfamiliar with the intricacies of archery, I do have an unqualified question and suggestion. :c)

If a particular tensile level is causing you to get tired out a little too quickly then might it be an option to either retool your bow or to modify your full draw to exert less strain upon the self and thus reduce the level of fatigue felt?

This would be kind of like a weight lifter who is out of practice 'not' going for the full weight that s/he used to lift but rather to choose lighter weights to lift so as to ease back into the game. Less chance of injury.

Yes I know that your blog wasn't just about the archery - but I felt it was the area that I could most meaningfully comment. Good luck to your mum on her course.

(Incidentally - thank you for that cool up-vote a week ago. I doubled in Steem power from that figurative bolt of lightening! ^_^)

Hi there @pathforger, I'm really happy you commented on the archery part!

It is possible to reduce the length at which I draw, but it would give less force to the actual shot, meaning my aim has to be adjusted accordingly. It would also be a less than perfect stance.

It's also possible to go for a less heavy (in draw strenght) bow alltogether, but to be completely honest with you, mine isn't very heavy to begin with. I'm not able to adjust my current bow without additional parts.

I've practiced with this bow before and I know it's just a matter of time and enough practice to get my strength up that last bit.

The reason I'm choosing to go for less shots, drawn at full strenght is that I want to practice my aim and stance most of all. I want to get the right feel for it, so it'll be easier for me to estimate a correct aim over varying distances. I figure my strength will come with time and we can practice in our own backyard, so I don't necessarily have to practice for long at one time. I can just practice a short while every day :-)

Good morning my friend
