2001 Honda Insight Review Week
The Honda Insight now in its 3rd Gen, has changed somewhat since the one we have, its now a 5 seater and looks like a larger Civic.
The one we have is a 2 seater hybrid developed with one sole purpose, economy.
Honda's Insight looks ahead of it's time, yetit has a retro feel about it, for example its rear wheels are covered to make it more efficient and the cars sides taper in as does the roof, thus rducing drag.
It claims around 70mpg, however 80 seems achievable and one of the economy petrol challenges achieved over 100mpg.
We're planning a 400 mile road trip, which will be interesting to see what Ben achieves.
The car is all Aluminium to reduce weight and is powered by a 3 cylinder 1 litre with a hybrid system that uses a small electric motor.
This one is 5 speed manual, a CVT was introduced a few years in.
