Nope, I don’t especially love this view. But I took this shot to be able, in 2 years from now, to say : this is how it looked like… 😉
This parking is located in the south of Antwerp and is in fact almost right behind my corner. Although it looks like this since 1969, it hasn’t always been a parking of course. In fact the place has a rich history… This part of Antwerp was an important part of the harbour and from 1874 till 1969 it were docks. Boats instead of cars… I just missed that view by a couple of years 😊
And for the 300 years before that, there was a castle build in the 16th century by the Spanish who were the conquerors of the day at that time… I think almost all of Europe conquered Antwerp at least 1 time in their history… and that’s why we are not easily impressed anymore 😊

Anyway, right now the digging begun and hopefully in 2 years all those cars will be in a brand-new underground parking and the actual one will be replaced by a much smaller version of Central Park. Yes, our country and cities are smaller, but we have huge ambitions 😉
