Bosque Walk

Our daily dog walk took us along part of the bosque not often frequented. Although winter is less colorful here than the other months, the muted colors of the season still make for a gorgeous place to pass some time with nature.

Of course we always love the chance to walk underneath New Mexico's dramatic sky.

The views here were scenic, with nearly uninterrupted views of the Sandia Mountains.

We were lucky enough to happen upon a large flock of Sandhill Cranes. These majestic, graceful birds love to winter along the shores of the Rio Grande.

My favorite sight was this silly fellow, sitting alone upon a tree stump. The quality of the photo isnt that great, but I was glad I was able to capture him before he flew away.
