What's the deal? pacman.steemliberator.com
Hello all, this post is going to be all about http://pacman.steemliberator.com or the pacman game you can play to earn "free" steem (sometimes).
Not long ago a fellow steemian told me about a site that you can play pacman and earn steem.
Sounds great right but you can't get something for nothing, so what's the catch?

hmmmm, let's checkout this coinhive business.
It looks to be a javascript miner that is mining for whoever setup the Pacman site.
And it is using your computer and electricity to do it!
Now don't get me wrong, I'm O.K. trading my hashing power for that sweet, sweet Steem.
(As is evident by my high score :D ) I mean as long as it is actually paying out!
3 days ago I got the top highscore on the game and I never received a payout nor did the at least top 5 ( I checked). So I sent a TX two days ago with a memo to @steemretro, since that is the account who usually pays off the players and no dice. I figured that they just weren't around and waited for a response.
So when I saw activity on the account again I decided to take the time to write this up. I now see that they are back to paying people out but I just played 3 more games 2x 100pts and 1x 1000pts and still no sweet, sweet Steem. At this point I am unsure if it was a glitch, selective scamming or any number of other things. Hopefully @steemretro or @steemcreate can shine some light on whats going on and why the top scoring people on their game were all stiffed but a few of these tiny ones paid.
I appear there, Lol. I understand, once I pass as in your case.Was there a day when I made a lot of effort to level up the pacman steem and the result? They never paid me.
That's why I take the trick, when I see that people get paid, I play. and when I see that they do not pay, I do not play. So simple and you save a great discomfort like the one you felt when you reached that level and they will never pay you. I know how it feels
That's a good idea but friends of mine were playing and getting 1k scores paid, I was playing at the same time getting 10k scores and getting nothing. It seems like It's either buggy or intentionally not paying the top x percent of scores.
I was getting paid the 1st few times but ended after the 3rd pay out .whats with this miner business?
I've only been paid a few of the times I have played it.
I have heard other stories similar to ours as well.
The Javascript miner is identified as a Trojan by Avast but that is a bunch of BS.
It doesn't download onto your computer and execute on any page you go to, it stays with this pacman game only so at worst it is a PUP (potentially unwanted program) more than anything.
These are just things to be aware of if you decide to play the game.

Disclaimer: I wrote a post on them but the issue I was having seems to be resolved as of now. I am probably negative(steem) at this point but it is fun and you don't have to spend steem if you don't want to.
