#club5050 Dance It All Away (Power Up 17 Steem)

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 years ago

It is crowded in here tonight. Many came to enjoy the live, barely advertised performance on stage. I was craving an authentic experience so I was relieved to find out that there are lots of locals too, not just the many western tourists who keep being dropped off by air-conditioned coaches.

I hope they are all aware that there isn’t even a single fan in here turned on. I brought a white lace hand fan which kept mixing the strong floral aromas. I used to collect fans from all the places I travelled to. But when I ended up with a big cardboard box full of them in the loft I decided that it is time to put it on pause.

Back to Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia and this entertainment venue, where I felt like I was in the spa centre, but I was actually wearing a long dress. Not that there was an actual dress code really.

Barefoot kids were going around trying to sell refreshments from water and variety of soft drinks to cold beer and exotic fruits and spicy crisps. The mostly elderly audience dropped off straight from the all inclusive hotels were feeling like stuffed turkeys so weren’t interested in any of that. Not that I was thirsty or hungry but I did spare some change for a bottle of water so at least one kid could happily just play outside for a few more hours today. Another day, another dollar.

Lights off. Music on, live of course. Male and female dancers start to fill up the stage. This performance is about life from its very start till the very end. The pretty Indonesians worship the nature and especially their many gods who provide nearly everything they need for their existence.

There is no detailed script about every act so you can easily, and you better had be, carried away by the music and the dance. You actually feel like you are slowly swaying following the rhythm. The costumes, especially the girls’ are a piece of art really on their own. They feature, as you can see from my photographs, various colours with gold and green standing out the most. Fine embroidery is on every skirt and belt. I adore the exotic flower crowns. The makeup completes the whole appearance with the eyes given the most of attention. They also dance, moving up and down from left to right. Same for the lips not necessarily just smiling and revealing the teeth like in the widely known Latin American dances for instance.

I believe I added some extra flavour to your regular school night. Be yourself and confidently show your inner self through colours, textiles and even eye contact because you simply make a difference.

I also powered up 17 Steem and here is a screenshot of the transaction.

They are fabulous indeed @stef1 Sometimes I feel like I am living in a fairy tale and I am pleased to pass it on.

Thank you ever so much for nominating my post for the WORLD OF XPILAR community support programme. What I love best about this nomination is that the article I wrote and posted last night got noticed straight away here. This is very encouraging for me and my fellow Steemians to keep being active in WOX ideally daily. I have not shared this post anywhere else so I look forward to receiving the upvote. Cheers and have a nice evening.

Dancing eyes... Nice!

They are a fantastic example of what people call expressive eyes I reckon @weisser-rabe These are certainly the most expressive ones I have ever seen. No need to say much verbally once you have mastered the dancing eyes. It will certainly be a bit unusual if you try any of that over here in London on the crowded train in rush hour which I at least managed to find a seat by the door on. I certainly didn’t expect it to be so busy on a regular Thursday evening after work.

Thank you for an article where very beautiful cultural clothes are exhibited.

Wooww what a show :) I loved the girls' costumes, jewelry and make-up. I totally agree with you that they look like works of art. Everything is colorful and flashy, these are the things I love. The flowers look so fresh that I can almost smell them. It's great that you shared this visual feast with us, thank you :)
