Music Monday (feel free to add your own music)

The aim is simple, to banish those Monday blues with an eclectic range of music chosen by Steemit friends both old and new.

Music Monday.jpg

Every Monday I intend to post a music video (and a few words explaining my choice) I invite you to join me by doing same in the comments section below. As the forum (hopefully) grows my aim is that we begin to inspire our fellow Steemians to broaden their musical horizons by listening to the music that inspires us. The only thing I ask is that (where possible) every song we listen to is played nice and loudly on headphones or speakers in order that we capture it’s true essence.

As more Steemians join this venture there is also going to be the possibility of being rewarded for our musical tastes via the amount of upvotes each song receives. That said please never feel awkward about posting a track, a guilty pleasure or even your own musical ventures. I have an extremely wide range of musical interests but also understand that music like beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder. As such I may play my chosen song, but who am I to define what constitutes good music.

I'm back :) and hoping everyone is well and has enjoyed a really good weekend! I was lucky enough to catch this band over the summer and they produced a great set, some really unique and diverse soundscapes .. so I thought I'd include a couple of their tracks. Plus, their money man sentiment pretty much matches mine and slots quite nicely beside the post I'm working on. :) I hope you enjoy!

This isn't about making me Steem so please save your upvotes and reward the songs that you feel are worthy, although equally if my song stands out to you then I'd appreciate the vote. Any resteems would be much appreciated, all are invited and welcomed to join us in sharing and listening to a diverse range of music.

You'd have to be as ancient as meself or Shepz1 to remember this one!
It's aged a bit better than I have.

Hey @deirdyweirdy .. another great choice, not heard of these guys .. but I'm loving the sounds! I was always drawn to the edgy nature of this music and era, you never quite knew where the music .. or indeed the country lol was going to go next! Plus I loved how the whole 2tone, ska sound built bridges between communities and racial divisions .. music the universal language, thank you for sharing it!

Cheeky beggar ya, I am only 21 (at heart) :-)

I might as well kick it off with a little known the jam song. Hope I find you fit and well sir.

Great choice dude, The Jam are one of my other half's favourite bands, plus they contributed several songs to the soundtrack of my youth :D .. and yet I don't think I've heard this one before. Really different to their usual stuff, a simplistic beauty .. love it! Thank you for the music my friend, as always this one was a pleasure to listen to.

I was a second wave mod, in the 80's so the jam were my go to tunes for a while, and that was a b side track, that over the years I have thought was worthy of a A side. :-) Glad you liked it my friend.

I always liked this one although the line 'For no bonds can ever tempt me from she' is a tad dodgy;)

Indeed my friend. :-)

You got me dancing! :) here is my election for this week my friend, hope you enjoy.

and here is the translated lyrics in case someone wants to know what they're saying: He has a white beard, six fingers in each hand, a mansion with an orchard and a ranch full of pigs. It's our grandfather Frederick, with his dog tagarnina (oyster thistle), I'll tell you the story of the parsley joints. In the house of the grandfather strange things were seen, the insomnia of a spider and a puking frogs parrot. Sometimes we go to the field and take the paper, and roll with tagarnina two joints at a time.
That old man every morning sows parsley under his bed. Then look for the oyster thistle in the deepest walls of the mines. The grandfather drank glasses of sweaty bull juice, and the war between tomatoes and turnips began. This was in his orchard, which is uncontrollable, watermelons release broth and asparagus tomato pips. Bombing in the garden, and even the pigs lost their respect. Tomatero (tomato grower) rabbit face, hippies comes and they put you like a redneck! Bombardment inside the orchard, peppers grow on grandpa's beard. Mr. Farmer, black chickpea, they steal the lettuces and treat you like a dog. And the grandfather says he has a corner, to put a store and sell oyster thistle. And the grandfather says is going to make a war, that is going to hit whoever steals their herbs. ...And he does nothing!

Man! Los Delinquentes .. best band name ever! lol Great track as well my friend, I'm lovely the hazy midday sun vibe of it all .. awesome musicians as well, some great beats going on there .. with some shades of the Bueno Vista Social Club .. nicely done! Great choice my friend, really enjoyed this one. :D

Lol yeah, some crazy amazing folks, glad you're that good, keep it up!

Cool choice this week. I enjoy bands that have female lead singers that don’t do pop music, they often have great depth.

Got a little more rap this week, coming to the end of my Nas collection on my iPod.
Nas - The Message

Nice track my friend, bit of a hip-hop classic! I dip in and out of hip-hop these days and often listen to more old school beats (like this one), so not sure if Nas is still rapping? Haven't heard anything from him in ages. Excellent choice my friend, not sure if this era of hip hop will ever really be equaled .. so much creativity and freedom of expression. From the late 80's on through to the high tide marks of Nas etc, produced some amazing music, beats and flow that sound more fresh and relevant than the majority of stuff that's being put out today. Thank you for the music @cmplxty

A taste of honey - great instrumental version

Hey my friend,

Hope you're well .. nice funky sounds! Sounds that speak to 60s/70's throwback that I am :) Thank you for the music @hercdoukakis if this track fails to raise a smile .. you must be going deaf! :)

Powerful girl voices to start workdays

Awesome, great energy, fantastic voice .. and loving those riffs!! Never heard them before so I also thank you for the introduction, just what I needed to blow away the cobwebs. Thank you for the music my friend .. yet another listening pleasure, and an awesome new band to discover .. win-win. :D

Welcome back my friend, thank you for the music once again,
here is mine for this week, I hope you enjoy it

much love xxx

Hey my friend, hope you're well and enjoying a good start to the week. Loving the tribal dance sounds and that chorus is so well done! Nice work my friend, this put the spring back in my faltering step! lol Thank you for the music @trucklife-family .. really enjoyed this one. :D

Ah yes! Why does this post sneak up and surprise me every Monday?!?!

I am posting this goofy one because we just sang this on the weekend at the studio. We dressed up as the Beejees a couple haloweens ago and I had never heard this song. What a funny discovery and it makes for a great karaoke song when you can sing the harmonies and have a funny falsetto part at the end.

Ha the funny thing is, I only just received an email with the below video from a friend of mine, and it crosses the Bee Gee's with AC/DC .. and rock/metal is the genre you usually play lol

On the karaoke front, I'd definitely be belting this one out after a few beers .. probably clearing the pub/party in the process lol Thank you for the music and the laugh @zekepickleman

Here you go mate

I have shared some other songs from Trapcity in the past but not this one, hope you enjoy it!

Sorry my friend, missed this one last night .. but what a track to start my day with! Cleared away the cobwebs and put a double spring in my step, nice choice my friend! The perfect way to start my day. :D Thank you for the music @dedicatedguy .. this was a listening pleasure! :D
