The Monkey Pox disease came out of blue, as no-one would have suspected the outbreak of such a deadly disease. Although no one prays for evil occurrences, but at times it is inevitable to feel something about to happen. The Ebola Virus, The HPV and now the Monkey Pox.
Now, let's go to the 10 notable things about it:

  1. The first case of the monkey Pox was recorded in 1970 in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Somebody might be wondering why it is always Congo with the disease, they are linked to Ebola also ?. Well, am also wondering.

  2. Monkey Pox spreads sporadically and is currently in some parts of West Africa.

  3. It was first discovered discovered in monkey which justifies the name.

  4. The mode of transmission: It can be contracted from contact with blood, body fluids, breathe of the nose of infected animals.

  5. The major carriers are monkeys, squirrels and rodents( the rat family).

  6. How do you know an infected person? The symptoms of Monkey Pox include fever, headache, chills, muscle aches and fatigue.

  7. The incubation period of the virus is actually 7-14 days. i.e It takes 7-14 days from. infection before symptoms begin to surface. It can also range from 5-21 days.

  8. In terms of infection, the hand leads. Try to keep your hands safe enough. Practice good hygiene by washing your hands regularly or by sanitizing with alcohol based sanitizer.

  9. Vaccination against small pox is very useful in preventing Monkey Pox. It has proven to be over 80% effective in preventing Monkey Pox.

10.There is currently no known cure or safe treatment for the Monkey Pox. So, Play safe.

    There are some people who believe that monkey pox is small pox virus that mutated. I believe that they are in the same virus family.
