“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lost of the flesh, and the lost of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” 1 John 2:15-16.
Worldliness simply put is to be interested in the things of the world than of God. To be interested in things we see than things of the spirit.
THOUGHTS OF WORLDLINESS
Things of the world makes one lose focus of the kingdom of God.
You cannot love God and love the world. (Matt 6 vs 24). ”no one can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” MAMMON in the Aramaic language means money.
Deny yourself of things that are pleasing to the flesh; especially while waiting on the Lord.
Worldliness is fulfilling the desires of the flesh. Ephesians 5 vs 18 ” and be not drunk with wine, wherein in excess, but be filled with the spirit.”
So that you are not unequally yoked with the world. Anyone who tells a lie is duplicating the characteristics of the world. II Corinthians 6 vs 14 ”be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?”
God want you to be separate. Your life should depict the nature or resemblance of God/Jesus. I John 2 vs 17 ”and the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever”
Worldliness is a way of death. ”a way that seemeth right before men but the end thereof is destruction.”
You are God’s letter to the world. People don’t actually have time to read the bible, they want to read the bible through the life of Christian brethren. II Corinthians 2 vs 3 ”ye are oue epistles written in our hearts, known are read of all men.”

PROBLEMS WITH WORLDLINESS
It causes pollution of the spirit (I john 2 vs 16)
It shows off your weakness as a believer (Judges 21 vs 25)
It is a sign that God cannot direct you
It is a sign you are more interested in perishable things than in the imperishable. Matt 22:23 don’t be like the Pharisees who doesn’t believe in the existence of heaven.
You cannot afford to go back to your vomit. II Peter 2:22
