Hello everyone, am called @pchords4 and I wish to elaborate on my knowledge about achievements 3 which is content etiquette that is talking about plagiarism.

What is plagiarism??

Plagiarism is the deliberate copying of someone’s work and using it inserting your name as the author of that work. Most at times when this is done, there is no reference done to indicate it’s been copied from somewhere.

Plagiarism had its outcomes that is, it had disadvantages. One of these is it drops down your value. By you copying someone else’s work claiming it’s your own idea and you are being caught, it really brings down your integrity.

Also, while on steemit as a steem user, it will affect you in that your account will be muted.

I will write down some forms of plagiarism I know which are

Self plagiarism

With this form of plagiarism, the writer republishes their work without any prev citations as to the old one , they simply copt and paste the old content and brand it as tho it is a new one

Direct plagiarism

This kind of plagiarism involes direct copying of content word to word and trying to pass in that information as yours , the writer might not neccessary repeat the sentences but extracts thesame idea and uses them as theirs

Stealing

As the word says, stealing is collecting information or content from a non free source without authorized permission from that source and also without proper citation of the content

Paraphrasing

This is a form of plagiarism that involves repeating someone's content with different words and making it seem like yours .

However, there are ways to avoid plagiarism which can be done by always using your own words and ideas, do not do direct copy of someone’s work, always do sourcing that is, giving reference.
