Love Your Enemies?
Dear steemit friends, if one could summarize the message of Jesus in one sentence, preferably one He uttered himself, what would it be?
For me it would be: “Love your enemies.” Matthew 5:45-46
Yes, that is the most difficult thing to do [with our own abilities], but also the most difficult to pervert. For if loving our enemies, is not the conclusion, we are most likely simply interpreting his sayings in whatever way it suits ourselves. And at the end of all our lovely worship events, prophetic ministry and mystical experiences, we would most likely still be part of the group shouting ‘crucify him!’, for it's easier to remain part of the sacred community than identify with the other, the victim.
Paul once said that we should not be surprised if satan himself comes as an angel of light. Would seem that the most effective camouflage for the anti-christ message is the Christian label. lol

STOPFor me I would summarize the message of the Messiah in phrase he used everywhere he went, and that was "Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Loving your enemies is good, but even the wicked can do that and remain wicked, but repenting is different, you can't repent and stay the same, repenting is seeing what God calls sin, recognizing your sin, and turning away from it and turning toward a life of obedience to God. That is the message of our saviour.
