Scouting the horizon

I honestly don't remember if this beautiful changeable hawk-eagle Nisaetus cirrhatus posed as a model for @Qurator's Photo Friday Competition yet, but I like these photos so much, that she will by my pick for this week's competition. This photo was taken shortly after sunrise, in Uda Wallawa National Park, Sri Lanka.

The eagle was perching not far away from one of the roads, scouting the horizon as if it was oblivious to our presence. And there it stood, changing the position from time to time and almost driving my travel buddies insane, as I insisted on staying a ton of time taking photos after photos. Sincerely? Worth it, some of the photos I took then are on the top spots of my favourite avian photos!
