The king and his bad conscience
So today was a cosmic day in many regards. I found myself in the middle of preparations for a rather important political gathering (not that I consider it important at all but the matrix does, the media does and so do the people showing up there and speaking). It is a gathering of politicians, faking an interest in the people's voice in order to gather points.
In many ways it felt like being invited to the king's castle many centuries ago - we were helping preparations, setting up things here, moving things over there, getting everything ready for this huge PR event to further cement in people's minds the notions they have been fed all their lives... being in the palpable field of the propaganda narrative that people refer to as "politics" today. It was quite disgusting but I really don't mind anymore, it has long started to amuse me.
At times there were previews and soundchecks of all sorts where parts of the coming program were aired and I had to giggle most of the day because a lot of research and experience has shown most of these fairytales to be wrong. Not only wrong but audaciously, ill-intentionly wrong.
Cosmically all of this preparation for this allegedly super important anniversary in politics came at a time when politicians had just given themselves a(nother) huge raise in their wages. You know? The type of raise all other people in society working for someone else have no say in whatsoever. Politicians just get to decide that for themselves. Sure, it's all for our benefit...
So then all this talk about how we live in a democracy, how this is really just a selfless service for the benefit of "the people" and blablabla.
But you know what was funny? The ten hour workday turned into merely 4 hours of actual working time. The majority of the day I spent waiting... Waiting for what? Well for the roundabout 150 policemen searching the entire area minutely for weapons and explosives of course! It was quite a scene. Literally every single employee of the handful of companies present could not continue their work as we all had to evacuate the area, letting the police do their thing.
It was just so funny. Here I was sitting in one of the halls listening to the propaganda about how the house of representatives "improves efficiency in the economy and works on intelligent solutions regarding social issues and challenges" and here we all were, faced with an obligatory stop to all our work because someone at the top coming here wanted to make absolutely CERTAIN that there would be no physical danger to their well-being.
And it hit me: Those questionable people eager to rule other people really must have a bad conscience.
Noone in the right mind, knowing they did great things for society and for their people would even consider booking that much protection at such a high economical cost. Only people who fear other people do things like that...
It reminded me of movie scenes where an evil and despised king would do his utmost to hire guards keeping an eye on the guards, putting extra guards in front of and behind the thick steel walls in a palace behind a big ditch filled with water, aligators and poison ivy walls.
The kind has a bad conscience, the gang knows fully well what they are doing. The propaganda has become so transparent it's quite hilarious now. If only most of the other people working there with me could see it. But the spell is still too strong for most I guess. Words and packaging overshadowing what is actually done and observable.
Well, at least I can be fairly certain that I will not be blown up by some madman in the coming days because there really is no way that an actual dude off the street would be able to make that happen in there. Not with that many hired guns to protect the king and his cronies hiding behind their meaningless chatter and fake smiles & passing themselves off as commoners while robbing their human brothers and sisters to more and more audacious degrees...
