(Edit: I wrote the wrong month lmao! It should say May I took that photo today.)
Well hello fellow stemians! I have been on steemit for a little over a month now and I figured I was long overdue for an introduce yourself post. (Better late then never right? Lol) While I prefer a certain level of anonymity, my munchkin pictured above shall be my representative. ;) I am woman about to turn the milestone age of 40, and I am now at point in my life where it is time for me to get back to having a serious creative outlet. When I was a teenager it was writing poetry and drawing. My late teens and early 20s were dedicated to singing and the music scene. My late 20s I discovered my joy of hiking and photography. I spent my most of my thirtys until very recently with out any real creative outlet and it's been like a piece of me was missing.. I can not tell you how happy I am that I joined the Steemit community. This blog has truly inspired me to be creative again!

I am an avid reader, and have been since I was a little girl. I have a large collection of books that grows on a monthly basis. I love to learn about the world around me and do so by constantly reading new research and articles on various subjects from a number of different sources. I happened upon Steemit one day through an article @antimedia posted on the dreaded facebook. Towards the end of it, as an afterword, the author gave a short explanation of what Steemit was all about. I was intrigued enough to do some research. I'm very glad I did, I truly enjoy being a part of the Steemit community!

I have a great love for being out in nature. I enjoy hiking nature tails with my munchkin. I am rather introverted so I often hike by myself and will take landscape shots as well as photos of plants, insects, (and animals if I'm lucky), it's something I have enjoyed as a hobby for many years. Having this blog on Steemit has inspired me to try and take my photography to a perhaps more serious level and I also have a new found intrest in macrophotography thanks to looking though the work of some very talented photographers on here. I plan to research the flora and fauna I take photos of and add it to my posts as well.

I absolutely LOVE camping!! My boyfriend of many years and I now go at least once a year in the Adirondack mountains of upstate New York. (I'm a New Yorker born and raised, started on Long Island and made my way north upstate over the years).

I can't wait to go this year, so I can take more pictures like that and share them with all of you! I am very lucky to have access to beautiful scenery like this with in a few hours of me. Until then, now that spring is finally here, I plan on spending a lot of time hiking the nature trails in my area and taking photos to share. I also like to grow my own plants which I will occasionally share photos and stories about to. I hope to start growing some kitchen herbs indoors this year, I'm looking forward to starting that project soon and documenting my progress.

I have learned a lot since joining Steemit 40 days ago. I know far more about blockchain and cryptocurency in general and have learned much about how this type of platform works. I am very grateful for all of the great informational posts and advice from veteran members, Steemit truly has a good community of people supporting each other. I have written in posts before of my thoughts on resteem and bidbots (not a big fan), but to reiterate my steemit goal; I want to grow my reputation organically through posting quality content without using bidbots. I use the #nobidbot tag started by @whatamidoing on all of my posts for that reason. I also want support my fellow authors with upvotes and well thought out, relevant comments. I do enjoy interacting with authors and artists whose work I like and find interesting.
In conclusion; I am very happy I learned of and joined the Steemit community. I look forward to growing my reputation and following (And lets not forget earning Steem!!), organically through quality content as well as comments, and I look forward to meeting and interacting with more cool and talented steemians on here! :)

You’re welcome

This is an interesting message! I'm glad to meet you (even indirectly). I have the same craving for secluded rest. I see many beautiful landscapes. Although you are from New York, it always seemed to me that in this advanced metropolis there is little nature. I mean that in order to get out of nature you need to go far from the city. But apparently, I'm wrong.
Excellent communication!

I very much appreciate your message, and am sorry it has taken me so long to respond back. I agree secluded rest is an important way to recharge mentally. I grew up about an hour away from NYC on Long Island. If you go far enough east on the island, you can still find some small farms and rural areas. Where I live now is several hours north of NYC, and it is predominantly rural farmland and unspoiled areas of forests and mountains. There are good size towns and midsize cities dispersed intermittently throughout the State as well. NYC makes up a relatively large area of the southern tip of the state, but only makes up a small area of New York State as a whole.

It is interesting. I always dreamed of visiting New York and this state as a whole. For me, this is of cultural interest. I hope in the future I will be able to carry out such a long journey.
I would be interested if in your blog you will pay more attention to the place where you live. You described this as rural farmland and untouched areas of forests and mountains. It sounds interesting. I'm sure you have something to show and tell.

I definitely plan on posting more landscape, and nature trail photos from around where I live, in the near future.
