A great different view!
We arrived at the beach to wait for the full moon, but were rewarded firstly with a stunning sunset!
The sun hastened to get behind the mountain in the distance as you can see just a piece of the sun sticking out. But it was a great revelation to me and tonight I will catch the full setting sun above the distant mountain at the beach.

Summer holiday season now and some late arrivals out anxious to see the sea.
Ah! The moon started to clear the mountains!
We were at the beach, which is about 6 kilometers away from the mountains that you see here in the back ground!
Unfortunately clouds rushed in and I tried my best to get an impossible clear shot of the moon.
Cars are streaming into the province now that the schools are closed and it is the annual December 4 week holiday period. The parking lots at the beach are full and all of a sudden there are people everywhere. Restaurants are staying open later and they are doing a booming business.
It is our first time to stay in a holiday hot spot and we will have to get used to the influx of holiday visitors. Not going to be easy as we have become used to the deserted beaches since we moved here out of the holiday season.
But as usual we will simply accept the situation and try to make the best of it.

Gorgeous sunset @papilloncharity! We're used to seeing the sunrise over the ocean here on the east coast! I'm sure you'll soon be seeing the beach from the holiday makers' perspective:):)

I just looked at the forecast for the next 10 Days and its barely going to go above freezing point as a high for that time, so apart from walking to and from the office I won't be doing too much walking

well here thats what we will most likely have for two or three more months so I just have to get used to it and accept I can't do all the outside walking i like doing, :)

Living close to the beach with holiday influx you soon learn to stock up before hand as best as possible to avoid shopping areas Stephen.
Sunny days when people stream down to the beach, escape into parks or areas less frequented by holiday makers, all a new learning curve, enjoy!
Sun and Moon photography amazing, bringing joy no matter where you are.
We are so lucky to have discovered the organic growers at the old house premises next door Lady Joan. The local garage has a shop that's cheaper than the big centres, so we are pretty much out of the main stream.
It is indeed a great first experience with thousands of souls descending on the beaches and reminds me so much about holidays that we had in KZN in a previous life. Now it's different as we have become the "us" in the, "them and us" Lol.

Ha ha, you learn to go local very quickly and avoid the big stores when you live at the coast during holiday season.
First day the sun is out you will be amazed at how many come off the beach crispy fire-engine red and wonder where all that sunscreen went.
Luckily we only follow our normal trend of sticking to the places that are off the trodden roads Lady Joan.
I remember well when we were "Vaalies" how desperate we all were to get to the beach. A huge difference when one actually live near the ocean. We can now understand the resentment that the locals feel when their territories are invaded by all of the strangers. It is so the same in nature Lol
