KIDS WILL BE KIDS - QUICK HOMESTEADING HACK
Sometimes, you just need a quick fix!
It was a long time coming, but we finally got some goats on our homestead a little while back. A few of our oldest @little-peppers already know how to milk goats, so now we just have to wait to get our doe bred and take it from there. Between everything else that we have going on, sometimes we just have to get creative to get the job done.
If you remember when we got our sheep, I built a little shelter for them out out "junk materials." We had some fun, and we love the look of it. Most importantly, it gets the job done! When we needed a temporary shelter for our goats, we were on a slightly tighter schedule, so @papa-pepper got to brainstorming.
Then I remembered our plastic playhouse that we were not currently using. It's supposed to be used for kids, right? Technically, this is a great solution for the time being, and a fun one at that!
QUICK, EASY, & FUN!
Sure enough, it worked out great! As you can imagine, it adds a level of "fun" to the goat's pen that there would not otherwise be. Since little goats (kids) are so happy and playful anyways, it seems like a perfect fit.
Obviously this is just a temporary housing solution, but, it is highly effective. In some ways, I'm glad that I did not spend my time building a temporary house when I had such a good solution nearby. I think that it's fun to explore the far corners of our minds to find creative solutions for "problems" like this.
So far the goats and the children have been getting along splendidly. The doe is still a little shy, but the young bucklings are very happy to see us whenever we show up. Since we will be using the doe as a source of milk, it is important that we also befriend her and gain her trust.
A TIME OF REFLECTION & INSPIRATION
Seeing an image like this does something special to a father's heart. To see such cute @little-peppers and such cute little animals together outdoors is wholesome and so full of life. There's something about living "raw and organic" out here in the mountains that just feels so right. Most importantly, I'm glad that our family has a desire to live life together, and really be a part of one another's lives.
In the not all too distant future, moments like this will only exist in these photos for us. Life moves on and children grow. But... we will always have that memory of the first time we got goats, and that crazy playhouse that @papa-pepper gave them to live in at first.
I hope that you all enjoyed this fun little post, and that your families are doing well and being blessed. Whether you are a father, a mother, or a child or sibling, make sure to enjoy the family that you've been blessed with, and do your best to be a blessing to them. Thanks!

Is that what a Snow-crib looks like without the snow? Beautiful pictures of the grandchildren.
Ah yes! I forgot about that use.

Nice post. As a father, I know how the joy kids feel when they face new experiences like this. Kids are always curious about anything.
@papa-pepper God bless you brother! Your so realistic and thank you for sharing your life to us!
Thanks @jraysteem! That means a lot to me!
Glad you didn't have to
goadgoat them into it.LOL! Thanks @talanhorne!
I really enjoy this post @papa-pepper. Seeing the children play merrily with the animals at the fair. They're very happy. This is a very creative place for them. Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience with them papa :-)
Yes, the @little-peppers really enjoy our animals! Thanks!
You are welcome @papa-pepper
That was a great solution and a fun one too, for the children and the goats! What wonderful memories your children will have when they are all grown up! You are truly a blessing to them giving them such wonderful life experiences.
Thank you so much for those kind words. Hopefully I'm a blessing to you with all the wonderful selfie memories you are making in the contest too! LOL!
You sure are! I told my husband that if I go before he does, he will have a wonderful set of images to show at the memorial, showing just how crazy I was. That should make people laugh instead of cry! Lol!
Lol, indeed he will. They can celebrate your life!
Nice post.

Very creative solution!! In the first picture I had to do a double take!! I thought that was Barney the big purple dinosaur out there helping out!! 😂😂😂 Very precious pics of the little peppers. I can tell they're getting so much out of their lives being able to see and learn from Papa and learning to care for the animals. 😊
OH no! WE do love each other, perhaps even in the "I love you, you love me, we're a happy family" way, but we do not have any dinosaurs on our homestead. ;-0
With all the creatures you find, maybe someday!! If there's a dinosaur out there you'd find it. ;D
Could be. I have heard some rumors. Thanks for the encouragement!
Brilliant solution. All kids like those houses. I guess it is about feeling safe in them. When my nephews come to visit, they always do a "castle"( in their words) with the cushions and play in it. I guess its all about feeling safe and being shy when they see different people rather than their own living spaces everyday. Goats are the same i guess :)
Could be. I bet you love having an excuse to make "cushion castles" and play in them!
sure. It is fun to be a grown up kid with them. Also my cousin designed a sofa for kids to play.It can be a big mess after they leave. You have to make the puzzle. :)
Wow! That is super creative!
It was displayed in New york at Mavi Jeans store for a long time. But not sold so sadly.
