My Thoughts On Andre Gray's Football Academy on Steem!
Did you know? Football was invented in China nearly 476 B.C and it is the most watched and most played sport on the planet?! Back then, footballers didn't have the luxury to utilize the round bouncy hybrid of synthetic leather and rubber we use as manufacturing materials for our football today. They used inflated pig bladders to play football!.
Today, however, football has grown to be popular and is enjoyed in almost every country in the world. Some regions, however, are still left behind generally when it comes to sports. Especially in politically unstable nations and underdeveloped countries.
Some of these nations have young talents with the passion and enthusiasm for the game but they lack the motivation and incentive to make progress and consider taking football up as a career. The training facilities are almost dilapidated or non-existent and the financial means available to allow them to play as often as they wish to play at a standard level is extremely low.

Today, we celebrate not just the launch of another football academy online, but a special one of its kind.
The AGFacademy (Andre Gray Football Academy) is a new project on the STEEM Blockchain that is pioneered by professional English footballer Andre Gray, who plays as a striker for Watford Football club in the Premier League. It is the first ever project that seeks to incentivize football talents and learners by implementing Blockchain technology. They are bringing together football lovers and enthusiasts from different parts of the globe on the blockchain to foster a healthy environment where soccer can be learnt and taught easily.
AGFA takes football training and talent scouting to new, fun, and interesting heights by frequently giving out drill sets as videos tasks to the community and then supporting response videos with upvotes on the Steem Blockchain. Participants can then save up these monies received as votes and use them to buy better training equipment for themselves over time. The resources used for giving out upvotes is simply a cryptocurrency staked on the Steem blockchain as Steempower. This resource is renewable and will be used to generate even more Steem currency by voting on well-prepared video responses to reward talented publishers. Hence, unlike the resources of football club run on fiat resources, funds aren't exactly used up completely!
By launching on a decentralized blockchain protocol with room for incentivization, there really is no limit to the size and variety of the academy. AGFA will comprise of young talents and perhaps superstars from different regions of the globe. Thus, uniting world football!
I do love the initiative and i believe that AGFA is the first of many other decentralized sporting academies. Maybe, someday (because dreams do come through) in the future, AGFA would be recognized by a prestigious football agency for the work they will do. And i can only thank Andre and his team for choosing Steem, and for giving young football talents the opportunity to enjoy football, and to be a part of such an amazing creation.
