Dissolve
Dissolve my heart,
I no longer want to feel it beating.
Purge my soul,
I no longer want to feel it aching.
You twist a knife in my heart
That you do not know.
I am lonely for a touch,
Your touch,
No one else has your skin,
Your hands,
Your eyes.
Without that touch I want to float away,
An ether,
A breeze,
For ghosts don't feel the pain that my flesh does
Without you.
I will endure the pain,
For your healing.
For your sake I will stay alive
And let you twist
That knife inside.
If it means you're happy.
But I'd almost rather be an empty shell,
A discarded carcass,
Then to live one more hour
Without you in my arms.
