The man in the hat

A tinfoil hat

As I knocked at the door I could see a shadow move across the tabloid newspapers that were stuck to the windows. A pair of eyes beamed down at me through a slit between the newspaper sheets. I raised my voice to announce who I was, I was mid shouting when I realised a small camera with a microphone was above my head, I lowered the volume of my voice. I could hear the various bolts and locks turning from the other side of the door. He opened the door by an inch, one eye peered through the crack, before the door slowly opened further.
'Come in,' he said in a quiet voice. This time opening the door fully.
'Thank you,' I said as I stepped inside. He leaned out of the doorway taking a careful glance up and down the street before quickly shutting the door again. He pointed towards an open door at the end of the corridor. As I walked towards it I could here the array of locks and bolts being slid back into place behind me.

On one side of the room was a bank of glowing computer screens and in the middle of the room was a round table and two chairs. The table had been set with a freshly pressed yellow cotton table cloth and a porcelain tea set. He pointed towards a seat and I sat down. He poured tea into my cup and then pointed towards the milk and sugar. I began to speak but he quickly hushed me, then walked over to an old Grundig stereogram and turned it on. He spent some time carefully turning the dial and fine tuning it, not to a radio station but to a white noise with the occasional low crackle. He then flipped a switch next to him and the ceiling above our heads lit up with Christmas fairy lights. A small silver tinfoil hat sat on top of the record player, he picked it up and placed it on his head before returning to the table.
'Now we can talk,' he softly whispered.

Hi @opheliafu! Good post. It is interesting the story, very good!

Glad you liked it, thank you!

I LOVE how you have book text on the background, the texture on this is so beautiful. It was great being able to read his story then see the process of building the picture. A wonderful full experience in your art. Thank you :)

I thought the two pieces worked well together, thank you for taking the time to read it and comment.

Goodness me lad, this is fantastic. I feel like I am there!

Do you have your hat on?

Ma'am, I rarely take it off!

He's a good looker, very chisled :)

'The man in the hat' look like a steemian especially due to blue.....And red represents he is also witness "all the hard work the do for block chain".
What do you think @opheliafu

Haha, which witness do you have in mind? I'm not sure any of them sit in tin foil hats, but I could be wrong :D

Lol. Just trying to make some sense out of your color selection.

I imagined an old environment while reading it. Nice work.

Yes, a mixture of old furniture and new technology.

I've enjoyed the sense of atmoshpere

Excellent! Thank you very much.

Man inprisoned by words!
Man hot and cool (red and blue)!
Man with glasses!
Man in everything!

You mix two arts (writing and painting) and so many themes and materials!
Very nice ;)

It must be challenging to come up with such original ideas. I'm looking forward to more of your mixed media stories: more fun than plain text.
