Lavenders and Poppies
The fresh scent of lavender
Did you see my post this morning Lavender and coffee? I've spent today painting lavender, my drawing desk smells amazing! This painting is of fresh lavender, some dried lavender and dried poppy heads.
I started off the painting by applying a background colour of pale greens with acrylic paint. I then painted in the shapes of the dried poppy seed heads and the dried lavender.
I used a range of blue and purple hues and tints to build up the petals of the fresh lavender flowers.

Lovely! We love lavender-- have at least 100 plants in our garden, including some off-white varietals. When the height of flowering season is here, my wife bundles them up and we offer them to visitors to our gallery.

My wife has hundreds of poppies in our front yard. I love when they bloom. No lavender though--I may have to plant some myself. It is very pretty. Your painting is amazing!
Thank you. They are quite easy to grow from seed or just buy one lavender and then taking cuttings from it. The cutting roots very easily in soil.

I would add also some scarlet red touches somewhere... like just a suggestion for poppy petals.
Something like ladybug on lavender, or just dots
