Growing Roots

in #art9 years ago (edited)

Visualisation is one of the tools that I use when focusing on my ambitions and goals and considering how I will achieve them. For me part of that process is drawing.

I will draw what I want to achieve, sometimes this includes text, and sometimes it doesn't. I also create motivational images to inspire me, I often display the images in my workspace to remind me of what I am trying to accomplish. I may also place them above my front door; take them with me on a journey or to a meeting.

My focus for this month is to plot out a clear plan for 2017. I'm starting the process off with building connections, looking at professional opportunities and expanding my creative contacts.

The image I have created this week is about perseverance. Sometimes it can be all too easy to expect the things we want right away, but often things take time to develop. ‘Growing Roots’ is about working hard towards your goals even if you don't see immediate results, and having faith that your abilities and hard work will bear fruit. The roots can also be seen as the connections we make with other people and the skills that we develop that are the foundations upon which we can build. The growing branches of the tree represent stretching ourselves, and reaching out beyond our normal comfort zones.

Let's make 2017 a fruitful year!

I've always liked these word tree things.

Have a nice weekend !!

I will do, you too!

I really like it! Have you read the book, "Choose Yourself"? The concepts in the book started a chain reaction in my writing career a few years ago that lead me to places I never even dreamed of (Steemit being one). Also, if you're on Facebook the author of the book, James Altucher, has a closed group on that platform. There are some incredible people in that group, including Molly Hahn and our very own @fairytalelife.

Wow, that's really interesting. I haven't read that book, but it sounds like it's worth a read.

I am hopeful that seeds that I planted decades ago will begin bearing fruit in 2017! Not being a visual artist myself, I commissioned an artist to put my vision into a painting. Your post is spot on!

Thank you, that's very kind. I work with artists, and non-artists too! I'm doing a little workshop tomorrow, getting people to think about the word(s) they want to inspire them in 2017, and putting that into art. It should be fun.

Lovely post. Very creative

Thank you, kind of you to say.

@opheliafu I love the quote and how you put them out on your drawing !

Thank you @englishtchrivy . Your cheeseless burger competition has made me hungry, I make a great vegan burger!

@opheliafu - that's the 1st time I made one and I thought what on earth am I getting into hahaha .
In that case - you should join - wink wink!

Clear ideas, jobs, dedication and perseverance you can get almost anything, just for not saying all, beautiful work lady @opheliafu congratulations

We all read images differently depending on our own experiences and desires, it is the beautiful thing about art.

beautiful picture and message! thank you for sharing your wisdom :)

Thank you Camilla!

Thank you for posting @opheliafu. Lovely analogy and painting...fresh and vivid. The new year seems like such an apropo time for reassessment....appreciate how you walked us through yours.

All the best.

'Fresh and vivid' that is just how I'm feeling with my colours today. I'm thinking cyan and sap greens :D

I like using words as art too. I tend to take a slightly different approach, but the end result is usually the same.

I used to do a word of the day post, that was fun. This piece is more a motivational tool that I put by my desk to remind me to push on.

I'm usually quite motivated, even if that means being motivated to be lazy. Sometimes I like to be reminded to laugh, so that's where I go with mine. It gives me a boost.

You see I laugh pretty easily, it doesn't take much!
