My Actifit Report: December 1 2019
Madeira , day #5.
In the morning we drive 15 km to the Santa de Serra Sunday market, to buy some fresh exotic fruits and vegetables. Expecting the prices 2-3 times lower than in downtown Funchal. And this was exactly what we found there. Strongly recomend this market.
Later a few hours of sunbath near the hotels swimibg pool. We were the only swimmers there. Low season, no wonders !
Finally we went for hiking to the highest mountain peak in Madeira, the Pico Ruiva.
It is 1862 m asl. Went with small stops (for taking photos) almost 3 km to the very top. After few minutes a cool cloud covered everything, and with wind the real 7C felt like only 3C. Could not stay there for long. Another 2.8km back to the parking lot. And after 3h and 10 minutes the task was complete.
Never been really hiking in the mountains, in my whole life.
