My grandfather was a great Mr. Fixit and he knew how to figure out which tube blew and how to change it ......
We did get up to change the channels, but we didn't think anything of it.
When my Grand mother passed, she had an old organ still in her house that had the tubes in it. You couldn't give those organs things away ! But.... my uncle found a man that still worked on tubed stuff and was a collector, so he hauled the organ off for the tubes that were in it and bought a box of extra tubes that were still in the basement where all my grandfather's tools use to be.
