No, Ghost are not real.
However, there are definitely things we don't understand scientifically. Generally, talk of such belongs entirely in the realm of pseudoscience and make-believe.
Well I am generally in the same camp as you. However, there is so much anecdotal "experiences" that it is hard to just brush it off as make believe. I bet if the poll were large enough, I suspect somewhere near 50%-ish believe in some form.
Freedom of belief is important. I don't doubt that 50% of people believe in ghosts. Using this to claim they exist is something else entirely different. It's similar to UFOs excapt we claim to have identified the ghosts.

In short, I would say yes - but I prefer the term spirits. As for experiences, there is not a comments section big enough for me to even start, so I won't haha! But I have had some real hair raisers throughout my life.

Well, I grew up in a house with a poltergeist, and I've lived in several other homes that had some sort of unexplained activity, including one that was seriously haunted, so yes.
I do believe that some sort of unexplained activity, whatever you choose to call it, does exist, and that some people are far more sensitive to it than others, including myself, most children, and pets.
Although, having been trained in science, I don't think the usual "explanations" of otherworldly occurrences are likely to be factually accurate.
I simply put it into the realm of things we don't understand, which includes a whole lot more than most people realize, and which in some form exist in every culture worldwide.
I've written about my experiences on Steemit before, so I'll leave it there for now.

I don't believe in ghosts as such being I trained as a scientist...but I have seen some weird stuff over the years that cannot be explained away so easily. Spooky AF! lol
