They're back 4: Look now or they're gone
These are the mushrooms I say on yesterday's walk in the forest. It was in a different area with different kinds of trees, some spruces and pines, and I found a few mushrooms I hadn't seen before.
This is a yellow brain aka golden jelly fungus (Tremella mesenterica). They usually grow higher up in trees, not the first place I look for mushrooms, but every now and then one drops to the forest floor, tree branch and all:

I don't think I have seen this one before, it was quite big at 20cm (8") across:

These purplish-grey ones are new for me as well:

Another large one, also about 20cm (8") across:

These frayed ones look like they have reached the end of their lives:

Another new one (new for me, that is), it could be that there is another fungus growing on top of them:

More when I see them!
Wow, they looks like Alien from another world
Wow, so many edible mushrooms
I must have picked a good part of the forest then 8-). Which ones are edible?
2, 3, 4 photos - that I know myself
It is amazing.
There are no words.
Isn't it nice to have mushrooms back again! We've had a big ice storm, with no melting for days. But it finally rained and melted everything today. So maybe I can get more mushrooms, too, lol. : )
I sure would like to see underneath that last one. I wonder if it is a Gomphidius of some sort. It would have whitish gills going down the stem. They are a funky looking mushroom. I like the Jelly Fungus, too. They always make me laugh. And it looks like a nice Oyster mushroom (Pleurotus) in the third photo.
That last one is a weird one, never seen one before. I couldn't get photos of the stem, and I didn't want to pick it up. Thanks for the identifications!
You needed your GF and her mirror to peer under the cap! ; )
Yes, but it was far too muddy for her, a regular rasputitsa.
@ocrdu - was it you I was talking to about the mushrooms I saw in BC? And I didn't share the photo? I think it was you. I found the picture so I'm posting it here - serendipitous that you did a mushroom post today :)
That was me, I think. Pretty mushroom! I don't think I have seen one of these before.
they look like bells don't they? - I tried researching to find out about them to no avail. I also had a picture of one of those fried egg ones....but can't find it now.
Yes, bells or skirts. I haven't found out what they are yet.
They reminded me of lily of the valley - have you ever smelled those? One of my favorite perennials - I think they are poisonous or toxic weeds somewhere else in the world...but here, they are "native".
Yes, smells great. It's native here (The Netherlands) as well.
