Rubbery and Yellow

Unappetisingly disgusting to some, a gem to others, and even potential food to a few:

I found this the other day in the forest. I think it is a yellow brain (Tremella mesenterica), gele trilzwam in Dutch, but I'm not very good at identifying fungi.

I read that the yellow brain is sometimes used to lend texture to soups because of its gelatinous consistency. Even though I'm one of those who think it is a gem, you won't find me trying that anytime soon. Even its name is off-putting.
