Meltdown

in #photography8 years ago

It is still freezing overnight in The Netherlands, but no longer during the day time. This creates some nice patterns in the ice still left in the local peatbog:

These patterns are caused by the ice melting away around trapped air bubbles. I have no idea what causes these strange patterns on the top of the ice though:

Strange, isn't it? A bit further on, in a place that gets more sun, almost all ice and snow had disappeared:

Some new ice is still being deposited as hoar frost overnight. Here's a mysterious look down into a hollow tree stump, it looks almost like a geode:

The ice may be melting, but it is still pretty!

Thank you for posting @ocrdu these lovely photographs.

Such work is a feast for the eyes. We appreciate you bringing your talent and skill to Steemit.

Thank you.

Very nice pictures. Enjoyed :)

It really does resemble a geode, how fascinating! Ice is always such an interesting subject, no matter the medium used to capture it. These are so pretty. I've been offline for a few days, I missed our walks ;)

All the walks are safely stored in the blockchain 8-).
