Virus - 5 Minute Freewrite

"You little beggars are a plague on this city. Off with you." the merchant said, waving dismissively. "I have nothing for you."
Snot crossed her arms, and, at a level the guard could definitely hear said, "Of course you don't, you never actually sell anything."
The guard glanced over again, his eyes narrowing at the two of them. The merchant sighed, and stepped in close. He hunched down so close that their heads were almost touching. His words were low, and measured. "What do you think you're doing?"
"I'm helping myself." she replied in a whisper, crossing her arms. "And, maybe helping you. I know you're a fence. We all do, so don't you even think of hurting me."
The man scoffed. "I'd never hurt a child, even if you are a snot-covered virus carrier." he paused, before continuing. "So, what do you want from me?"
Snot wiped her hair from her face, and gestured to the small bag the merchant was carrying. "We can swipe things, and bring them to you. We'll take one of those veg ball things from your stall to show that we're going to try, and if we got something we slip it to you. If we don't, we put it back. Then we meet up and you pay us for how many things we gotcha."
This was inspired by a random character I generated using a Java program I developed for D&D, DMing, and Writing. In my first free-write, I decided to challenge myself by attempting to string each prompt together into a single narrative.
