Faketoshi has sunken to a new all time low

It seems like a desperate publicity stunt

Stay away from the so called 'Bitcoin SV' {BSV} thing

It will be a Pump 'n crash

There is a Nederish saying that goes like: "a cat in distress will make crazy moves." (Freely translated.) That, by the way, is not copyrighted, my publication though is, even without me filing it. Because there is actually no need to do so. As soon as I publish this onto the Steem blockchain it is copyrighted. That is actually easy to proof for me, thanks to the blockchain technology that Steem is build upon. But if I wanted to file it, then I would better do it within a time-span of 5 years at the most. This is merely of help in a court of law, at first sight {prima facie}, within 5 years, is decisive. At least according to the Copyright laws of the United States of America. Why do I bring this up, well, because somebody seems to have filed a copyright claim. This somebody a lot of people in the Cryptos realm know as mister Craig S. Wright. Many know him also by his nickname Faketoshi. And after this alleged copyright filing move I am even more convinced he is probably a pretender. That is, as far as him claiming to be the human behind the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto and being the creator of Bitcoin. And the copyright claims are basically total and utter legal rubbish. They are a laugh, he and his mates must be really desperate to do something stupid like this.

"Why is that?", you might ask. As you may believe this is what he has been threatening the Bitcoin {BTC} community with a while ago, did he not? That thing that would destroy Bitcoin, what the developers of the true and only BTC had not seen coming? Well, let me tell you honestly, if this is 'IT', then it will soon be over and out for BSV, the forking of the Bitcoin Cash {BCH} clone. Yeah, I know, some people will fall for that cunning propaganda, pretending the brandname Bitcoin got Copyright registered and accepted along with the P2P Cash whitepaper text plus some software coding. And that incorrect data has been spreading like wildfire, not one site seems to be diving deeper into the matter. Craig S. W. got a patent? NO, come on, he just filed two copyright claims, nothing was granted even. That is just some website connected to BSV and CSW that has blown this up as a publication stunt. And remember please, they mined BSV all by themselves, using mining pools they own. So suddenly there is a big pump? Be careful, do not fall for that manipulation of the market. This is about two things that got filed as copyright claims. And there is a catch, that proofs it is total and utter rubbish. A publicity stunt at the most, and a very dumb move...

Works not protected by Copyrights

Did you worry that the name Bitcoin could get under control by some BSV controlling foundation? Well, it can not, not even the letter B in the orange circle? No, that is free of copyrights, it cannot be protected like that. The reasons why is described in a PDF file, known as Circle 33. Where the file Circle 01 describes what can be protected under Copyrights, Circle 33 makes very clear what cannot be done as such. (File sources linked at end of this article.) A name, cannot be done, a credo, cannot be done, an idea, a system and so on and so forth, can not be done. You see, this is where this whole publication stunt becomes one big charade. It is a desperate chess-play move, to avoid the final check-mate for BSV. Sure, those who are now caught by FOMO {Fear Of Missing Out} will help the marketprice and cap move up. This will probably trigger more people to fall for the trap. Just because many Crypto sites where caught but-naked in it. They are to blame too, falling for this bleeding obvious stunt. Really, if this is 'IT', then it is the worst version of 'IT' ever. (Referring to the movie/series titled 'IT'.)

Let me quote from the Circle 33 file:

Words and short phrases, such as names, titles, and slogans, are uncopyrightable because they contain an insufficient amount of authorship. The Office will not register individual words or brief combinations of words, even if the word or short phrase is novel, distinctive, or lends itself to a play on words.Examples of names, titles, or short phrases that do not contain a sufficient amount of creativity to support a claim in copyright include

  • The name of an individual (including pseudonyms, pen names, or stage names)
  • The title or subtitle of a work, such as a book, a song, or a pictorial, graphic, or sculptural work
  • The name of a business or organization
  • The name of a band or performing group
  • The name of a product or service
  • A domain name or URL
  • The name of a character
  • Catchwords or catchphrases
  • Mottos, slogans, or other short expressions

...

Copyright law does not protect typeface or mere variations of typographical ornamentation or let-tering. A typeface is a set of letters, numbers, or other characters with repeating design elements that is intended to be used in composing text or other combinations of characters, including calligraphy. Generally, typeface, fonts, and lettering are building blocks of expression that are used to create works of authorship. The Office cannot register a claim to copyright in typeface or mere variations of typographic ornamentation or lettering, regardless of whether the typeface is commonly used or unique.

...

Familiar symbols and designs, or a simple combination of a few familiar symbols or designs, are uncopyrightable and cannot be registered with the Office.

Examples of familiar symbols and designs include but are not limited to:

  • Letters, punctuation, or symbols on a keyboard
  • Abbreviations
  • Musical notation
  • Numbers and mathematical and currency symbols
  • Arrows and other directional or navigational symbols
  • Common symbols and shapes, such as a spade, club, heart, diamond, star, yin yang, or fleur de lys
  • Common patterns, such as standard chevron, polka dot, checkerboard, or houndstooth
  • Well-known and commonly used symbols that contain a minimal amount of expression or are in the public domain, such as the peace symbol, gender symbols, or simple emoticons
  • Industry designs, such as the caduceus, barber pole, food labeling symbols, or hazard warning symbols
  • Familiar religious symbols
  • Common architecture moldings

So what is all this nonsense about then?

Well, like I wrote at the beginning of this article it is about desperation and the moves to match. Mister Craig S. Wright does not have the private keys of the first ever mined Bitcoin {BTC}, so he cannot really proof he is actually Satoshi Nakamoto. That means he also does not have those of Bitcoin Cash {BCH} and Bitcoin SV {BSV}, because those blockchains forked off the one and only real Bitcoin {BTC}. All it would have taken was for that man to just move a tiny bit of BTC and maybe some BCH too. It would have smashed those two to smithereens, right away. Instead he just started to play a weird chess game and got a few gambling people to join him. But when BSV got kicked out off many exchanges and Crypto services he and his mates must have gone really desperate. Not only is the name Bitcoin not Copyrightable, the idea behind it is neither. Many believe the real Satoshi Nakamoto is dead, I think mister C.S. Wright {CSW} believes so too. And maybe he actually knew the real one, as I thought it could have been the late mister David Klein, a former business companion of his (There is still a court case concerning that.) When you read the writing of Satoshi and you compare that to that of CSW, then how on earth is there still a belief that those two are the same. Well, I call his bluff and I guess I am with many in this.

The whole publication stunt is crazy, but it looks to have had some effect, at least. But the claims will not be recognized, at least as the Copyright office knows what it is doing and my bet is they know very well. And if they just let it be like it is, that does not mean anything. There might be another threat by mister C.S. Wright and his companions to take people and organisations to court. But nowhere on earth will any court fall for this nonsense, as it is highly improbable that there even can be made any case at all. Even the so called Bitcoin Whitepaper and the initial software code are a tough case to have a copyright claim on after 11 years! Mostly a period up to 5 years makes sense. So all these big words of claims written at the propaganda site of the BSV camp are just a pile of bear crap. It is a fantasy, a last straw that the BSV side grabbed on to. One more deception to try and fool the Cryptos realm. And I am very sorry for those who fell for it, as I think this will put an end to BSV. It will go up at first, until it will become clear that this was just another deception, another episode added to the Faketoshi files.

Ideas and systems cannot be copyrighted

It is not a patent system, it is about two copyright claims, that would not hold ground in a court of law. Just use the word Bitcoin, it is a name, two common words put together. And a whitepaper plus some code from 11 years ago, only just now attempted to make a copyright claim? This is not going to hold in a court of law either. So I leave you with this last quote from the copyright dot gov website:

Finally, if registration occurs within five years of publication, it is considered prima facie evidence in a court of law.

That means that filing a copyright claim after 11 years wont really help in a court of law. It is based on the first impression; accepted as correct until proven otherwise, within a 5 year period. And that is about the literal text of the whitepaper, not the idea, nor the system, nor the invention, if any. Also, the way it was written is so much different from the style that C.S. Wright uses himself. And the text was build upon the original literal works of a few others, just like the software code. It wont stand a chance in any court of law. And this is the case on a global scale.

So I think that it is a desperate last move. Although my guess is that in a short while we will have forgotten about this weird last convulsion of what ones was known as BSV.

May the real Bitcoin {BTC} be with us!

For your information I will leave you links to the sources, so you do not just have to belief me on my words. Enrich yourselves with knowledge:

PS If the real Satoshi is still alive, now would be a good time to perform some MimbleWimble magic...

The real Bitcoin is BTC, check-mate BSV...

The original copyrights of the Bitcoin {BTC} whitepaper and software code remain under the name of Satoshi Nakamoto. Who ever that really is/was.

Sort:

And there you go, the Copyright office already debunked the BSV nonsense claim:

Now I wonder how long it takes before the price of BSV drops close to zero.
