A Succulent's World Away

Hello Steemians,

Today's elegant picture comes from a trip to a local floral shop near Hanover, NJ. I loved diversity in the flora the shop displayed and how some items seemed to be in their own little world.

These succulents stuck out to me probably due to the contrast of the light piercing through the glass or the antiquity it was set in. The goal for this Color Enhancement Process was to increase the quality of photorealism, while simultaneously bringing out the greens of the plant by isolating them.

Overall, I believed this would also give surreal qualities to the photo as well.

This was achieved by using the Curves tool in conjunction with the Brightness and Contrast bar to make the inherent colors pop more. After I used a subtle blue gradient layer primarily to complement the background light.

Finally to bring back out the greens and some of the darker tones I went into the gradient layer and erased the blue tones from that layer in certain areas.

Just like that our project is complete with a nice glow of surrealism and a bit of photorealism.
