Time to invest into the future

in #eos7 years ago (edited)

It took a while for me to grasp what's out there. Being on Steem it is only natural to find much appreciation here for the creators of Steem and of course BitShares and upcoming EOS. However getting an email this morning about EOS Dawn 2.0 I wanted to find out more about the price and valuation.

Downvoting time

I was pretty shocked to see @ned had downvoted the offical announcement of eos.io. I mean you must be pretty sure of yourself and I know Steem Inc. is not doing good on it's PR. I also wasn't at all satisfied with Ned's answers when interviewed at SteemFest2.

Valuation time

So what's the right valuation of EOS? Should I compare it to BitShares or to a Ethereum killer? First however I had to compare it to Steem. Seeing Steem's price not breaking the barrier of the $4 it had in the past I was wondering what could be to cause of that? I mean looking at the upvoting problems on Steem you can see it is not easy to partically demonstrate Proof-of-Brain™. It's much less work to hit the upvote button then it is to evaluate the value, correctness and accuracy of a piece of information. Therefore I do not see Steem value's rising much. The value are it's amazing writers that's for sure. But if reputation is inaccurate and easily gained how else you want to value a post? Not to say the least of the centralization of power with the @ned and @steemit accounts.

EOS

So back to EOS. What could it's price be? I was pretty shocked Dawn 1.0 and 2.0 came so quickly. Could it be that the market feels the same way? I counted the price rose 6.6x from it's all-time low of $0.55. That's pretty impressive while everybody is looking at Bitcoin which is hitting front page news on the newspapers.

Brock Pierce

It's good however to make up your own mind and get information from many viewpoints, especially those against. So after having seen lot's of video's about EOS and hearing lot's of positve viewpoints I must say can anyone say anything against EOS? Please?

BitShares

I found BitShares quite hard to use and quirky so I wasn't really fond of it eventhough I did like it's dark theme. It surprised me quite a few times and I think that is a bad thing. If you don't have anyone to hold your hand it is scary. However as for trading goes, it's speed is wonderful.

To DEX or not to DEX

Tony was pretty spot on and I never knew that BTS was once worth much more. Buying BTS when it was $0.05 was a very sweet deal which I didn't realize at that time. Now that it is 3-4x it's lows I still think it is a good time to buy however I have only one concern: when is EOS going to steal it's crown?

BitSpark going for BitShares when Bitcoin proved to be too expensive

Bitcoin for the masses

Still I think Bitcoin is going to rise massively for a while longer. The only problem I forsee is not government taking Bitcoin down but the miners making it too expensive. I think Bitcoin has gained a good equilibrium through testing and having the most market share and adoption all over the globe. Yes BitShares wasn't hacked in 3 years but has it had the same exposure? Is DPOS really as safe as Proof-of-Work?

Bitcoin to $40,000

Next time

Next time I'm going to look at Gab's ICO and maybe find out why Steem and SBD is up?
