Ulog 30: Fantasy football

I guess I missed it. Among my friends, when Labor Day weekend roll around, football season also starts. And that means fantasy football as well. I belong to two leagues. One is based out of New York City and the other is based out of Miami Florida. Fantasy football is a great social event.

What this means is that we usually conduct the draft around this time of year. I’ve been running around all week that I forgot that today was draft day for the New York league. It was supposed to start at 8:30pm Saturday. By the the time I looked at my iPhone and saw the message from my friend, folks were already drafting into the 10th round, which meant that I had autodrafted almost my entire team. So I guess I will have to figure it out. Here’s my team lineup this year.

I actually like my quarterback. Can Newton has been my QB for the past 3-4 fantasy football season. I think the other players are okay too I guess. I wouldn’t have picked them if I were aware of the schedule. But snoozer can’t be chooser. I will have to work extra hard during the season to catch up. Maybe I will catch a break as well. You can’t blame a father for trying to put his daughter to sleep and ended missing the draft.

This morning my oldest daughter and I went into Philadelphia and picked up her birthday cake and grandma’s cake as well. Afterward we went to eat some Vietnamese food. My daughter said she was willing to eat some new food now that she’s almost five. Once we were there, she said she really meant that she would be willing to eat some “bu’n”. And when she said she wants some bu’n, what she really meant was that she wants some pho she said. Which was what she usually eat when we go eat at Vietnamese restaurants. So the kid had her way again and didn’t try anything new.

We also found another Vivi’s Bubble tea in Philly. We hadn’t even noticed this one yet. I guess it could be our new father and daughter thing. We would be trying to find all of the places with her name in it. Vy is thrilled to find this one.

We didn’t go inside because I was caught off guard and I was already backing the car out and another car was holding up traffic and waiting to take my parking spot. I am sure he or she would have slashed my tires had we stayed there and went inside to check one the place. we may another day. It’s fairly close to a seafood restaurant that we frequented.

By the way here is the picture of the other Vivi’s that we found in Virginia. Vy was really excited to find this one as well.

She even wore matching clothes that day. Haha, her favorite clothes are pink and purple so it wasn’t much of a stretch.

We will continue to look for other Vivi’s places. It will be like us looking for places that accept bitcoins and crypto. Except this one will be a bubble tea and tapioca place.
