Help me make Now Playing even better!
I will be spending the next week or two fixing up problems having to do with making sure everybody who participates in #nowplaying gets accounted for (and paid out at the end of the week).
A Website?
I have thought a bit about making a dedicated website exclusively for #nowplaying, but I am worried few people would want to leave steemit.com for an external website. But it would offer some great new functionality! You would be able to filter the weekly playlists to only certain types of music, or only songs added by people you follow.
Stats and History
With the addition of the "smart replies" I am now able to associate songs with the steemians who chose them. I would love to mention fun facts as replies when enough data is gathered. For example in week 8 @ericosman posted about the song Changes by Charles Bradley. Two weeks later @innocentclair posted about the song Changes also! I would love to add a comment like:
Giveaways
I would love for #nowplaying to have occasional giveaways! We can have someone (like a record label) sponsor the week or month and ship out a record or t-shirt to a steemian, or we could give away something digital (like 1 month of spotify premium)! My worry about this is that the posts likely won't make enough money to cover the cost of something to giveaway. Maybe a record label or musicians would be happy to give away a t-shirt or record for free? Shipping worldwide is expensive, but doable. Maybe on weeks that we have giveaways we will not have the weekly payout? (I don't love the idea of that, but maybe it would be worth it??)

First of all is to give you a bunch of thanks for your project and your gret effort and contribution to the steemian ecosystem, It is not only funny but it also helps us to find out some new friends and tones of new music to add to our libraries. Not to mention that we are all slowly growing thanks to it.
I'm personally enjoying a lot reading while listening to those who participate actively, and it's an adrenaline shot when it appears an unknown gem.
About the giveaways: I don't see it clear, are record labels interested?. The worst issue I see it's delivering stuff, it may come tricky and expensive.
About the external web/app: would be great in order to display info that we are not able to do here. Maybe not a posting site but rather informative about how things are going on Now-playing weekly posts, the music involved, posting statistics, votes... It could be possible to integrate not only Spotify but other music streaming services(Bandcamp, SoundCloud...) and video services. A new world would be disclosed around music which is what finally put us together. Maybe a chat on that site would be interesting( I'm not sure). Discord is a must meanwhile.
Hope this group goes bigger so music spreads all over the steem network... keep rock'n steeming on!
awesome input! I agree completely!! I feel like discord would be the perfect way to display information, playlists, and communicate with each other! Can you post spotify links on discord? I am new to discord so I have no idea... haha!!
Yeah of course you can. Discord has also Spotify integration so if you activate it others can see what you are listening to while online.

I love #nowplaying on Steemit!! I have found so much interesting music through this contest. It certainly is a way for us Steemians to share music and I really appreciate that!!! I truly enjoy posting, although I get busy or distracted and don't post every week... but taking the time to actually look up and learn a few things about the bands I have been listening to is really fascinating! I like to post a few tidbits about the bands as well as the lyrics. I know I like to sing along when I like something. I am not sure what to say as far as the giveaways... I'm not sure how that would work. I do really like the stats and history idea though. Like I said, I don't get on Steemit as much as I would like to... and I may miss some things since tags only let you go back 7 days. I think it would be very helpful!!! Keep up the great work! I really do love #nowplaying!!!
I agree with making a chat group in discord. Much more easier for all of us to get connected.
