I suspect there's a whole crop of young officers with a first name of Dan or Daniel that hate the movie "Forrest Gump" with a passion. Some years back I witnessed a fair amount teasing of an Army lieutenant with the name Dan by his fellow junior officers, and they were brutal. And one of them could do the Forrest Gump voice flawlessly, which just made it more hilarious. The poor guy took it all in stride and laughed it off (you kinda have to or else it just encourages them to do it more), but still I bet he was looking forward to his eventual promotion to Captain more than most... 😁
