"Stopping the fast and arguing over it with my aunt" - a dream interpretation

The dream

I dreamed that I was walking down the street and met a lot of people whom I had not seen for years (especially girls who were with me in elementary school and junior high school. Also had a few boys). And I found that most of the girls were teachers, as I am, because they wore school uniforms (other schools as well, not only the one we studied at). Despite the uniform, all of them looked like my age and not as if we are still in elementary school.

I invite them to my grandmother's house (which turns out to be her old house where she no longer lives) and there we see my extended family, including my uncles and my second grandmother, who lives abroad.

My grandmother does not offer any sweets (very inappropriate for her) because it turns out that it's a fasting day (I for one have not fasted for years). I do not eat in order not to hurt anyone's feelings.

An argument erupts about willpower: my aunt asks me if I had fasted and would be served with a steak (food I love very much), would I break the fast? And I told her that even if they brought me the best steak ever with potatoes in the oven, covered with sour cream I would not break the fast. She accused me of lying and I confessed she was right.

Suddenly her husband (my uncle) told me to come with him to buy pizza and that way he would break the fast prematurely. I did not argue with him and went with him until we finally reached a falafel stand full of people. There were Arab workers and my uncle gave one of them his credit card number so that he would charge it after the fast because it was a religious fasting day and he did not bring any money. My uncle took the falafel in the pita bread and started to dictate to the employee his name b-e-r (which is not true) and told me to start running and that's how we ran and ran holding the falafel. The employee chased us and shouted, "Berkowitz, Berkovich," but I felt that we were running fast and he had no chance of catching us. Then I woke up.

By the way, I have no idea who Berkovits is, I do not know such a person. I am 27 years old. I am not very close to my uncle or his wife (who is currently in the hospital but I have not seen them recently).

My Interpretation

The dream describes a very strong internal conflict that, in my opinion, is related to beliefs and worldviews.

You seem to be consciously concerned that any behavior of yours is inappropriate (moral behavior or otherwise). You do something in your life that breaks conventions, breaks boundaries, but you have a part in you that finds this behavior difficult to live with. This part feels that you are betraying the tradition (is your background religious?), that you are undermining your basic values, to the extent that there is a danger (according to the same line of thought) of your survival (in this dream it is interpreted as economic survival, food = basic nutrition).

The elements of the school-friends, the walk in the street, the meeting at the grandmother's old house, the interaction with your aunt and uncle are the ways in which the mind interprets the movement of your consciousness during the dream into your soul-self and the encounter with the various parts that comprise the Soul.

The first dream talks more about unbalanced nutrition.

The current dream speaks of internal disagreement. You seem to be torn between two beliefs. Perhaps the core belief behind the two dreams is the same one, for example, that what other people think is more valid than your own worldviews.
