Achievement 3 : Content Etiquette by @nkosam

Hello dear friends, greetings to you all. I am back to write my achievement 3 after completing my introduction post and achievement 2.

Achievement 3 requires that I understand the content etiquettes that guide writing in Steemit as well as proof of brain and plagiarism.

Content etiquettes refers to all the rules and guidelines that I should follow whenever I am sharing any content in Steemit.

Proof of brain is one of the rules that state that I should always write according to what I know and not what others wrote. That is to say that I should always produce original contents that is free from plagiarism.

Plagiarism is the act of stealing other people's writing without giving them due credence or properly sourcing the work. This is pure stealing and is punishable by law and the same is with Steemit.

Types of plagiarism

• Mosaic plagiarism

This is the type of plagiarism where the user paraphrase the work of others without citing the source. It is often difficult to dictate this type of plagiarism.

• Paraphrasing plagiarism

This type of plagiarism is such that the sure paraphrase everything without adding anything new and without even sourcing the source.

• Complete plagiarism

This is the type where the user copies everything that an author wrote. That is to say that the user copied completely a what the author wrote without paraphrasing or even sourcing the source.

Self- plagiarism

This is where an author copies his own work as a new work either consciously or unconsciously.

Accidental plagiarism

This type of plagiarism is not done purposefully. A user can just write his post without knowing that he or she has plagiarized. It could be my omission or commission.

Souce-based plagiarism

This refers to a situation where a user writes someone's ideas from different sources but only sourced one instead of all.

Direct or verbatim plagiarism

Here, a user intentionally copies everything from another source. It is the copy and paste type. This is stealing and unethical.

How to avoid plagiarism

Try to source your work properly using citation method as you can see below

Try to write in your own words without copying from others. If for any reason you will copy, please properly source your work.
