Sugar Addiction...

in #dtube8 years ago

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all well!
In today's episode I talk about sugar addiction... and how super massively hard it is to kick. Lots of people I know are still fairly misinformed about the dangers of sugar on health, particularly on heart disease. We don't need it, at all... but we really, really like it. It tricks our taste buds, but doesn't actually do anything for us.

My 'No Junk Food' challenge forced me to go cold turkey on sugar... and it was rough... but I think I'm through the other side and I couldn't be happier.

Thanks for watching!

Hey Cool Guy!

To be honest... I really don't think that's the best approach. Would it be possible to cut that out of your diet?

The addiction is real

It's beyond incredible... coming from Australia to the US, it's amazing how many of the exact same products have way way way more sugar in the US. Can't even comprehend what percentage of the population is addicted...

Thats a great post Adam. On the 23rd of October 2015 I went sugar free and that was a massive change for me. I think the thing I noticed as well was, as being someone who is into fitness and health, it's recommended we consume 600g to 700g of carbohydrates a day. I now see this is completely flawed and it also means that an athlete needs to consume a lot of refined carbs and sugar to get that much into your body.
It was a massive change and I am a lot healthier because of it.
Don't look back now and keep going.
Regards Vince

Thanks Vince! It's actually really nice to get another athlete's opinion on it... I can't get over how many days it took to kick sugar out completely and stop feeling those insidious cravings. So many athletes drink so much Gatorade, or those running gels, or protein bars without realizing just how bad a lot of that stuff is for you. I used to work out with a mate who'd only consume two V energy drinks after a workout... I pretty much yelled at him every day, haha.

Thanks!
