My name is Nick Schultz and I'm from Milford, Pennsylvania. I turned 67 on December 23, 2016. Which is pretty surprising after all the close calls in my life. Surviving a heart attack, triple bypass surgery, a pulmonary embolism of not 1 blood clot but 6 clots and I was an elevator adjuster with 2 teams working on the elevators at 6 World Trade Center when the first plane hit the north tower of the World Trade center on 9-11. That will be a blog post in the future.
I'm still working as a field tech for an elevator controller manufacturer and looking forward to retiring in 2018 or 2019.
Wow, so you saw 9-11 up close and personal? So much controversy has swirled since then. No offense, but you're lucky to still be holding up with all those surgeries. You've been sown up more than a quilt, my friend! Welcome to the community, what will you be writing about other than your 9-11 experience? Do you have a blog theme or more like using it for networking? I'm going to resteem your intro, I hope you the best!
Thanks @metanoia I also want to write about health and spirituality. The triple bypass I had a great Doctor. I read up on a surgery technique using arteries instead of veins and he agreed to give it a shot. He never did it before. That explains 8 hours on the table verses 4 hours. But it's been working for 24 years...(knocking on wooden desk).
Oh, I'm glad the surgery worked out for you. My mom was in a wheelchair and when she got paralyzed the docs gave her six months. She lived for 25 more years! So, I think it's healthy to second guess a prognosis. No pun intended, but I'll take what I can get...
Good for hear. I take what they say with a grain of salt and always research before accepting the recommendations.
