Having a goal for the year.

At the start of this year I had set a goal of reaching 10,000SP. I put monthly goals in place and aspired to turn up every day and keep growing.

To build any profile or network it's vital to show up every day and put in the work. When I started here first, I couldn't get noticed and it took months of posting and commenting to build up connections on the blockchain.

People can complain about not getting votes but the reality of the situation is that no matter what type of club, business, social media or activity that you join into you will need to introduce yourself. You would have to go around the group and say hello to everybody. Tell them who you are and what you like. STEEM is no different. People won't necessarily go and find you, you will need to go and find them. Search out people with similar interests as yourself and make yourself seen.

Now at the start of the year 10k seemed out of reach from where I started but growth on STEEM is exponential. The longer you are here and the more Steem Power that you build up, the more that you will earn back. STEEM is more than just a social media front end, it is a decentralized platform for hosting all sorts of apps, games, wallets ect... It can be used as an investment vehicle. A blog or a site to play games on. It's an opportunity that I have not seen anywhere else to build your own brand online across a whole eco-system.


With the current bear market we have been given an opportunity that I never expected to see 2 years ago when I joined. I had heard about 7c STEEM in rumors but it was over $1 when I joined and it was a time when I didn't have the knowledge of what we were sitting on. That has all changed and seeing STEEM sitting on 17c is an opportunity that I feel is too good to miss out on. I didn't have much to spare but I have added to my SP over the past few months. This was only after hitting my 10k target by the end of June. Six months before my best estimates.

With that target passed it's time to refocus and push higher. Now the target is 20K SP! I won't set specific goals for this yet since I am strengthening my @steemmonsters deck right now but I will lay out a full plan in the next couple of months. For now it will just be tracking my progress as I power up and keep growing.

2019 SP Growth

After reaching my goal of 10k SP There is a huge jump in my steem power. That is me adding another 2000 SP from the markets. I'm here for the long haul and want to be in the best possible position when STEEM does recover it's price and people realize what is being built here. Whatever way we go after the next hardfork, STEEM will still be there. People are still building projects and life will move on. I'm investing in the future of the chain and I expect to make a big return somewhere in the future.

STEEM is an opportunity for anybody willing to take it and put in the time. Build your account, build your presence. Invest into the different areas of the blockchain.

It won't happen overnight. It will take time and effort. There will be failures and bad investments. Apps that fall away. Businesses that don't quite make it. Prices sitting on the floor. Stupid people and lots of frustrations.

There have been plenty of those since I started and aside from all of that, I still turn up every day. I've learnt so many new things. Had so much fun. Invested across multiple areas and have an un-ending interest in all that happens here.

Basically I'm addicted to STEEM like so many others.
