Downhill (2020) – Movie Trailer
I have to say this at the very beginning of this post… This review will not be objective because I’m a huge fan of Will Ferrell and his movies… On the other side, Julia Louis-Dreyfus was my favorite actor in the TV Series Seinfeld, and seeing both of them in the same movie is a promise for good fun… As you may notice from the trailer, it’s not a blockbuster, nor some superhero movie, and it will not break theaters, but, at the first sight, looks good as a movie to relax, laugh a bit, and maybe point a finger on your head...
The story follows an adult family on their ski vacation in the Alps. After that the family barely escaped from the avalanche (the husband took his phone and run :) ), the married couple is forced to reevaluate their lives and their feelings about each other… Sometimes, just accidents and a split second are enough to break the marriage…
The directors of the movie are Academy Award winners Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, well-known for movies The Way Way Back (2013) and The Descendants (2011). They were also the screenplay writers along with Oscar nominee Jesse Armstrong (Four Lions (2010), In the Loop (2009)), by the original screenplay from BAFTA Award nominee Ruben Östlund (The Square (2017), Turist (2014)*).
In the main roles are Golden Globe nominee Will Ferrell (Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006), Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), Blades of Glory (2007)), Golden Globe winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus (TV Series Seinfeld (1990-1998), Veep (2012-2019), Enough Said (2013)), Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002), I, Frankenstein (2014), War of the Worlds (2005)), Zach Woods (*The Other Guys (2010), In the Loop (2009), Ghostbusters (2016)), Kristofer Hivju (TV Series Game of Thrones (2013-2019), The Fate of the Furious (2017), Beck (2016-2018)) and others.
