Bake with me and keep on having fun 🥞🍰

Previously in my life I was making cakes but I did not put much effort to decorate them. For some time I almost stop baking or did quite rarely. But now I am thinking that it is fun and even if the bake will be not a triumph but fail, it is worth trying.

Once it starts getting colder and I am ready to experiment. Nothing can be compared with the smell of fresh bake, either cake or bread in a cold day. Outside the wind is blowing the leaves that fall from the trees, sky is gloomy and it is warm and cosy at home - Neli is baking a cake.

As usual I am not following a recipe. I start mixing butter, sugar and eggs. Almost forgot to put yogurt.

Then the flour is added and vanilla extract.

My mixer is broken and I whisked by hand everything. Good exercise by the way.

And 40 minutes in the oven. Here it is

That was easy, mix the ingredients and bake. Now comes the tricky part - decoration.
I found this sugar coloured pens today in the shop and I will use them to draw something on top of the cake.

But first I will put cream after the cake is cooled down.

If you wonder what that is, well it should be my dog Jade. Here is the original picture, compared to the cake.

But since the proof is in the pudding - 1/4 of the cake is gone, yummy 😀
